I have been a practising nudist for a few years now - but thanks to our society, my nudism has been restricted to the indoors only - i.e. at home and in the open balcony/terrace. Of late, I have been spending the week in Pune and the weekend in Mumbai. There is a big and open field near my house in Pune. It takes almost 20 mins to walk across the field through the centre. The evening breeze is as pleasant in Pune now as it is hot during the day. One evening, after an early dinner, I decided to take a walk in the field without clothes. It was the night after full moon. I started walking across making sure that nobody was around. Around a hundred meters into the open space, I got rid of my clothes and took a good look around. There was really nobody around. The evening breeze felt delicious and there was nothing above me but the moon-lit sky. I don't have enough words to explain how good the feeling of freedom was! In fact after a few minutes, I started feeling very confident of my naked state. "Do I really care if somebody sees me in the buff?" - I thought. "Not at all. I am already enjoying every second in the lap of nature." I walked to the end of the field, stood under a tree and breathed the cool evening air. It was fabulous! After a break of five minutes, I started on the way back along the circumference. There were trees and bushes on the way. Occasionally I heard the fluttering sounds above in the branches as I approached the trees. Possibly a few birds got disturbed by the sound of my footsteps on dried leaves. The moon lit night showed the way clearly but did not reveal my identity. Very soon, I approached the edge of the field and the streetlights leading to my house loomed large. It was time to put on the so-called 'covers of the civilized world'. As I donned my track and shirt, I felt like I am forfeiting freedom and voluntarily walking into a prison - the prison of textile existence.
