America in Between

Across the wide highways of this nation, there is a hush beneath the noise a feeling of in-between, like the country is holding its breath for what comes next. People walk with shoulders heavy, scrolling through headlines that change by the hour, wondering which version of truth is the real one. Some days it feels divided. Some days it feels tired. Some days it feels like everyone is speaking but nobody is listening. Yet still hope moves quietly like wind over wheat fields, like sunrise climbing over small towns, like laughter echoing in cafs even after arguments have ended. Because America, at its heart, is a place that refuses to stop dreaming. It is a land of rebuilding, of beginning again, of strangers finding common ground even when everything feels uncertain. Tonight the nation stands in the middle not where it was, not yet where it is going but somewhere between fear and faith. And in that space of in-between, the smallest kindnesses become the brightest stars.
