The semester has been crazy with staying ahead of the lecture notes, learning a new computer system, tutoring, and co-advising on History Club! I also still have the night job which means less recreational time on the computer. The only upside is that I can do a lot of prep while being naked at home, then I just save everything to a thumb drive and download it onto my school computer on campus. It will be better once I know my Fall semester schedule, and can get an online class or two set up in addition to 1 or more on campus. Luckily I share an office with my mentor, so I have been spending extra time with him for training. I hope that my course load will be solidified before the end of Spring semester in May, so that I can find out if I will have office access over the summer to prepare course materials and Power Point presentations. Fall semester starts the last week of August.Currently, I am teaching Western Civilization II (1500 to Present Day), and I hope to be assigned to Western Civ. I ( ancient to 1500) which is my specialty, for the Fall. I have also been offered a higher level course in Pre-History of the Americas which would have me teaching about Amerindians before European contact as well as the Age of Exploration. Either way, I score $3500 per 15 week semester per course (divided and paid every 2 weeks), so more courses means more $$$. I may also be eligible to be paid for tutoring other students besides the ones in my own courses. So that is why I haven't been around too much. I will catch up with emails during the next week while I'm on Spring break, whenever I can take a break from writing the Final exam and my lecture notes (which means I *hope* to be at least 2 chapters ahead of my class by the time they return :P ).
