Being judgmental - getting on my soapbox

It is interesting how many people "leap" to the wrong conclusion. I feel being judgmental only reflects poorly on those who judge. If you are Christian, you are taught "judge not, lest ye be judged." It is SO true. We should NOT judge. Why? We are SO bad at it! Most of the time we have limited information, base our conclusions on perception versus facts and certainly have not walked in the other person's shoes. I often see people here jumping to conclusions about the reasons why some people are here. I think it would be wiser to ask the person what is motivating their actions them rather than to assume. Most of the time, people take compliments in the wrong way or think they are only here to look at naked photos of people. The vast majority are here to make friends, share experiences and to feel the camaraderie of those who share the same interests. Give people the benefit of the doubt once in a while. You might just make a great new friend. Sure there are some that should not be here and I see them being identified and warnings posted about them. Thank you to those who look out for the safety of those who are part of this site. These offenders are the exceptions and not the rule, thankfully. Many people are also quick to judge photos as being too sexual or inappropriate without even giving the person a chance to explain, an opportunity to remove/modify these photos themselves, or even a chance to understand what may be taken as offensive and why. Sure, there are some photos I do not care to view here and as an adult, I can just go past them. Others may find them artistic or significant in other ways. As an adult only site (and I do not mean "adult" in the pornographic way), that is their prerogative. Guidelines are in place and we can all live with them if we want to be a part of this site. Personal expression (like freedom of speech) is a human right and it should be encouraged and tolerated. This is not always easy. Doing so allows all of us the freedom we enjoy as nudists. If we censor personal expression of others, we need to accept censorship of nudity also. I for one would rather accept a few photos that may be questionable than to be accused denying someone's personal rights. If it is allowed, it may lead to greater denials of my personal rights and yours. Lets all try to live together and try not to judge each other.
