h28/22: Celebrate women's right to go topfree anywhere men can! (Central Park)/h2 hr / Reply to: event-bjhhz- 1893175038@ craigslist. org font size="2" hr / /font div id="yiv336670633userbody"It's been one of the most sweltering summers on record, and the men of span id="lw_1281708661_6" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: #366388 2px dotted; cursor: hand;"New York/span have gotten to enjoy every day of it wandering through span id="lw_1281708661_7" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: #366388 2px dotted; cursor: hand;"Central Park/span (or on any city street) shirtless. We've got every span id="lw_1281708661_8" class="yshortcuts"legal right/span to do the same thing, thanks to a court ruling in 1992 saying that span id="lw_1281708661_9" class="yshortcuts"women in New York/span can bare their breasts anywhere a man can...but we don't, because doing so would invite stares, leers, catcalls, and worse. But there's strength in numbers - and on Sunday, August 22, there are going to be numbers! In nine cities across the country, women will be gathering (together with supportive significant others, of either gender) to celebrate women's right to go topfree in places where they have this freedom and to demonstrate for it where they don't. We're fortunate to live in perhaps the country's most progressive city...so here, it'll be a celebration, and a model for other parts of the country. Last year, two dozen women took part, bravely enjoying the sun and the fine weather in a way we've long had the right to but normally wouldn't feel comfortable doing. We can do even better this year! It's an amazing feeling to stand bare-breasted in the middle of span id="lw_1281708661_10" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: medium none; background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand;"midtown Manhattan/span, in full view of pedestrians, tourists, cops and cabbies, and know that you're not doing anything wrong - and that, at least for this one afternoon, you can do it without any fear of bad consequences. Want to be part of the event? There's a gathering planned for noon at one of the entrances to span id="lw_1281708661_11" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: medium none; background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand;"Central Park/span. If you'd like more information (even if you're not sure you'll go through with it in the end!), please send a note. And -- tell all your friends! /div
