Chatroom Moderators

This is getting absolutely ridiculous! I feel like it's even juvenile to be posting this, but here goes: I was in the chatroom today, when the moderator who goes buy the delightful name "rabbitnbunny" was going on about how she/he felt it would be a good idea for people who don't chat in the main room--whom she lovingly called "lurkers"--should be booted. The moderator expressed that this desire came from a wholesome and loving concern for all the members who could not get into the room to chat, while people were in there who weren't chatting. He or she also didnt like the fact that spots were taken by chatters who were dubbed "Away" and had the little orange tag beside their name. I pointed out that not all the members of this site are so forward, and that some in fact are more comfortable speaking one-to-one, in private chats. I also mentioned that private chatting was clearly not against the rules to private-chat, seeing how it was a function on the chat room. To suggest that it wasn't allowed, therefore, or that it was ban-worthy, was clearly not right. Furthermore, I said that I personally found it offensive that rabbitnbunny was supposedly expressing concern for "members", when she/he wouldn't take into account the members who choose to chat in more private, or less open venues. Finally I stated that it is also a function of the chat room to set yourself as "Away" if you step away from your keyboard momentarily...so you can't just go around kicking off people who are set as away. I told her that I found her suggestions offensive, her/his reply was that "if it means that members can get in here to chat, so be it, " and that "it was just my desire, not that it was a rule". Her/His rude, crass, flippant attitude was so disgustingly offensive, that I just excused myself from the room, typed a good-bye and was ready to head out, when.... Rabbitnbunny kicked me out of the room. For disagreeing, and for calling her/him out on their crap. It is absolutely unreal that this joke of moderator still continues to be allowed to have this sort of control after so many blatant abuses of power. The fact that he/she didn't care about what other members want wasn't offensive, but me calling a spade a spade (even while maintaining a respectful but firm tone) was. Rant over.
