Downtrodden Abbey

I do wonder why Downton Abbey was so successful ? When the late Maggie Smith was interviewed about her role in the series she was asked did you ever watch it Her face a picture which clearly implied she had not despite starring in it! Classic lines like I am going upstairs to take off my hat beggars belief. We have come along way in 100 years. Naturists and all.. Jen x
