Florence Pugh - we're on your side!

I think it goes without saying that most folks on this site would back and support Florence Pugh's decision to wear that pink dress to Valentino's recent haute couture show in Rome, Italy. Sporting a sheer (aka 'see through') top section her nipples and breasts were there for the world to see. This of course has turned the world into a polarised spectrum that has on one end got people taking the feminists side (free the nipple etc) and at the other end the prudes of the world saying 'over sexualisation', and worse still men denigrating her. But here's the thing, and why as nudists we should support Florence Pugh; its not either bookend of the polarised arguments that are raging either - in simple terms, its just part of the human body and what we can see is no different to seeing her elbow (or any other part of her). Are we truly still that titillated by seeing a woman's breasts and nipples? What gets lost in all that media hype around something like this is that the commentators themselves all lack the courage to show their own bodies and can't bridge that vulnerable nexus from clothed to nude, or even part nude. This is why they are so outspoken on the matter and why it becomes 'media worthy' and the 'grist' of social media. Keep in mind that Florence Pugh has also shared her entire body (nude) through her art. So to share part of her body, through what is essentially a cover, is just another day for her and a walk in the park. Her comments in social media were well presented with confidence and from a strong a voice. Go Florence! If there is an upside to this though, it is that the wider community is increasingly growing its diet of nudity or part nudity, and hopefully starting to realise it is not an offence, nor sexual, and it can be (or more to the point it is) socially acceptable, irrespective of your gender or any other facet of what makes you You. Go Florence!
