Had a weekend off so i started saturday morning looking on the net for some hiking trails. After reading a few blogs, i decided to stay close to Chandler. Started looking for a backpack and everthing that i need to put in it, (bottle water, peanutbutter crackers, little debbies) man i love them. Got an extra set of clothes to leave in the truck , just in case. Got the camara and oyea get dressed. The trail was out I-60 towards globe. On my way there i passed two trails and the second one i stoped to take a look. There were about 6 cars at the trail head but it looked very promising. I contuinued toward pinto mine rd. The directions were farly good. But it is about to be hunting season and there were plenty of them in there so i turned around and started back to the trail at Picketpost. I stopped several times to take pic. what a drive. I got to the trail head after 12pm, and ate some lunch. I found there is a trail the horse riders use and no one was there. I got my pack and started on the hike. Still nervious about being nude out there, i waited until I was about a 1/4 mile in the trail and striped down to my socks and shoes. This trail follows a river bed so i felt ok that i would not be seen. I walked for about a hour and the rock faces were over my head and made me nurvious. Yea, i am not from here and started thinking about the people that have been malled or killed by mountain lions. Now remember i am by myself, first time out here. I stopped got my belt out of the pack with my 9mm in the hoster. So i am sure i would have scarred someone if i had came in contact with them. Well off again with my pistol on my side and bottle of water in hand. I walked alittle further and turned around to walk back as i did not want to mis the ballgame. I walked all the way back to the truck this time and still did not see anyone. what a great trip. Hope i am off next weekend.
