Hotel Fire Alarm

I was sound asleep one evening in a hotel in Ohio when the fire alarm went off. This has happened a few times in the years I've traveled for work and I always ignored it. Soon the alarm would simply stop and I'd go back to sleep (yes, I know that's not what I'm supposed to do). However this time the hotel manager and staff was running down the hall beating on doors asking everyone to please vacate immediately. I figured this alarm must be for a real emergency.I sleep in the nude and didn't want to risk precious seconds looking for pants and shirt so I grabbed the comforter from the bed and ran out. Me and about 100 other guests waited in the parking lot for about 45 mins while the fire department determined what the problem was. I'm not sure if anyone knew that I was nude underneath, but it was certainly a thrill.When we were cleared to return to our rooms, me and a few other guests realized we left without our keys. I doubt anyone had proper ID so the ladies at the front desk simply asked for room number, name and home address before handing out a spare key. I was the last in line and started asking the girl what had happened. She wasn't aware what caused the alarm to go off. Toward the end of our short conversation she did say, "That was quick thinking grabbing the comforter." My response was, "Well, public nudity is illegal in Ohio." She laughed and covered her mouth in shock. As I left her parting words were, "I'll try to remember that." I've always wondered if that was just a witty comeback or if she was trying to say that she spends a lot of time nude.
