I`ve been mostly gone for most of the time

For those who are keeping up, here's an update. For those who aren't please excuse the intrusion. Nov. 1 I had surgery on my right foot. The simple explanation is the pinkie toe on right foot over the arch was fighting w/its neighbors. I had to go to my Gray's Anatomy to see what they'd have to do. BIG mistake. LOL I was given a wheel chair, walker, and new back brace/support. The only thing I'm using now is a new brightly colored red/blue flowered balance cane. 2 months of PT has done a lot but I still have pain at the surgical site. The ride home from PT, a young man (18) driving his first car (gift from parents) turned into traffic and almost T-boned me. My back had started to feel better, but now it's worse than ever. I can barely clean one of the litter boxes. Thank goodness, Allen does not mind helping out around here. I'll have 2 months of PT for the back in a facility that has a treadmill in the pool. Unfortunately due to weather, they had to close this week, and I'm miserable. I have doctor's appt. every 2 weeks. If I catch the pain just as it starts with Naproxsyn 550 mg., it some times takes the edge off. I am allergic to codeine and morphine but do have a prescription for demerol & flexeril. The weather doesn't help at all. A prospective member finished doing the raking and we've started burning the detritus in the fire pit. The property is going to look grand come May 2014. I will have to replant many of the perennials and all of the annuals to make it half as pretty. I also wanted to create another flower garden with 4 butterfly bushes in purples. My husband's update is a happy one. He had been having short term memory loss and pre-Parkinson symptoms; taking 3 drugs (down from 4) for that. Then a friend who is a therapist recommended another drug the the Neurologist said might be the key to better health again; she gave us a sample and it worked. I am sooooo thrilled he is just about back to himself. In fact 2 days ago, we ended up with a leak over our newly recovered sectional couch. I caught it soon enough to move things. It's amazing what you can do when you have to. Our 20 year wedding anniversary (Feb.5) as is every day. In fact, he climbed up on an extension ladder to see what was wrong with the shingles. Well, the workers that put on the new roof a few years back, didn't put flashing under some of the shingles. He will lift some of the off and put on some flashing and return the shingles. He does help load & unload the dishwasher, help me in and out of the car as well as vacuuming occasionally. We bought a little Eureka canister (purple) vacuum that is so light weight, I think maybe 5 lbs. that I can pull along. Now I'd love to sell the Kirby Sentria we bought a few years back and barely used. I thank those of you who have sent their prayers this way. Y'all invited to swim in our pool this summer.Hugs a bunch,Cheri
