My latest Health update

Hi everyone, I know it has been awhile since I updated my blog concerning my health, well I have seen a new specialist at the Cleveland Clinic, for my lungs, hes doing some testing, but isnt hopeful about me coming off of my oxygen anytime soon. He also agrees with the treatment plan that my rhuematoligist has in place for me. Which includes going into the hospital every 2 weeks for an infusion of a chemotherapy type drug, also i am still on the steroids, he is trying to ween me off of them as they have reeked havoic on my body! He also started a new oral chemo drug that i am taking twice daily, and yes i am loosing hair by the day! :( He only has me on a small dose, but plans to increase it when i go back to see him on the 3rd of January. Eventually he will push my infusions back to every 4 weeks, then every 6 weeks, until we get to every 8 weeks, and it looks as if that is going to be lifelong for me. I have healed nicely from my lung resection surgery, still only have 10% of the right lung functioning. with me being on all these immunosuppressent drugs they want me to be very careful not to be around large crowds of people, or sick people, because my immune system cant fight off any disease, so this has left me a prisoner in my own home, and that has been tough! 1 day at a time is all i can do! I have already had pnuemonia twice, and am now battling strep throat, and am on antibiotics for that. I will also begin a new treatment in Cleveland for my lungs, its an inhaled treatment where they put me into an air chamber and inhale the medicine, it will hopefully boost my lungs, to keep them from suffering any more damage! So thats the plan for now, i have many days when i dont want to get out of bed, but i have to! I have to BEAT this!! I am very tired, as it has been a very long road, and there isnt an end in sight yet.I will continue to push along as best as i can, thank you everyone for all the well wishes, and prayers!
