My Prostate Surgery

My TN friend messaged me about my recent surgery because he is about to go through prostate surgery himself. Hope some of you men find this useful. I went to the doctor because it would take as much as five minutes to empty my bladder, one drop at a time. Medication didn't help the situation. The firsts thing the doctor did was shove a camera up my urethra to inspect my bladder for cyst and to check on my prostate. The nurse grabbed my dick and squirted a lube and a local anesthetic right in the hole. (The only time I remember a woman holding my dick that did not thrill me.) Then the doctor came in and took the pictures. After that, I was taken to a bathroom with a special scale (It was a graph) that measured pee speed and volume. Then they did an ultra sound of my dick. A nurse came and put a shot into my dick, told me to rub it in for a few minutes, it got half stiff and then he came back and did the ultra sound. That was the first step. I was scheduled for surgery to open my prostate. I remember checking into the hospital and meeting the anesthesia team, getting the shot and then waking up in my room hooked up to IV's and a catheter tube, the size of a first graders pencil, in my dick. For the next 20 hours, every hour, a nurse came in and changed a gallon bag of saline to wash out my bladder. After 20 hours the discharge was pink and they stopped washing my bladder. I was unhooked from the IV and had a bag attached to the catheter and sent home. For a week I had this bag hanging on me and was getting antsy about it. It was very stressful and some painful. The discharge was getting lighter and lighter. I went back to the doctor to have the catheter removed. The nurse poured a pint of saline into my bladder and then pulled out the catheter and had me pee in a jar to make sure I could pee out as much as she had put in. I could and got to go home without the catheter. I was happy. This started the most painful portion of this event. Every-time I peed a blood clot passed. At first the clot came before the pee and then it would come near the end. Sometimes they were no bigger than a BB and sometimes as big as my little finger nail. Every passing had a smidgen of pain. The last one to pass was as big as my little finger and the only one that made me scream and the only time during this whole ordeal that I felt any real pain. I am calling the operation a success. My two jokes are "I can piss like a 30 year old again" and "My stream is so strong, I can put out a three alarm fire". Men, pay attention to your prostate. It does not need to be cancerous to cause problems with your health.
