Problems with repression all over the world.

As we may know, democracy is under attack and is facing existential threats. Repression is spreading in the weaker states known as "Democracies" from the nations that are not democracies at all. And there are plenty of places that are "partly democratic" and "mostly democratic but not perfect" that have plenty of hidden styles of repression. In a sense, it is very much a wake up call to everyone in the United States whenever there are times when loads of Americans begin to notice how repressive much of the rest of the world is currently in the present day. Germany definitely restricts speech as shown by the United States edition of 60 minutes interviews with government officials about online hate speech regulation in Germany. That doesn't mean Germany doesn't have "Some Freedom" and isn't a "Most Free Democracy." That doesn't mean it can't be lost either. In Australia there really is a democracy, but there might not be a first amendment in the same sense that there is as exists in the United States' First Amendment to the US constitution. The real issues in Australia is when speech is politicized, as it is anywhere else in the free world. In all countries, as in the United States and other countries, some people manipulate speech to make people think that things are better than they actually are. This is a problem is when local officials and the public at large do not acknowledge that things are getting worse for all of us. Then they stop actually caring about their citizens. This is happening not just in the USA but also mostly in African and Asian countries and some places in South America. Fake news is spreading like wildfire because of social media as a result of people lacking the ability to handle disputes without resorting to intimidation or manipulation or harm. Harmful people are spreading fake news just because of the motive they have to do harm to people or to manipulate people so they can meet their ends through the harm and manipulation they do to others in order to control what others think or do. Though, to Australia's credit, media is free, but that doesn't mean it isn't regulated on some categories. That also does not mean that it is the worst censorship. I think of Australians as tolerant of a window of acceptable speech in which most normal speech is fitting inside the window of acceptable speech, but if people go beyond that, they can get fired. I don't think Australia has the worst cases of it, except if speech online was about the national emergencies in recent years in Australia and in disagreements about history that occur not just there but in other nations about all aspects of recent human history including other countries and Australia. Everyone is sensitive in government all over the world in times whenever people talk about this, which is the right way that the governments should react, as sensitive. Toxic speech fueled by negativity can also be utilized to manipulate people, so government often is needed to intervene to keep the peace from breaking into a clash. There are in other cases some bad examples of government interference with the media market different from censorship, and I also understand that safety is at risk whenever people are manipulating the sensitivities of others to redirect others to carry out political motives of others. Everyone need to be careful not to be manipulated into having our sensitivities being misdirected to serve nefarious political motivations of other people. I will not be manipulated by shame and guilt cultures that promote me to think a certain way. I don't like the way people manipulate people into doing the bidding of nefarious powers. Adversarial governments, when they fight each other, later usually employ these nefarious people to spread harmful information that manipulates people against the countries they are in conflict with, such as China and Russia against the USA and Australia and the UK for example. China and Russia send propaganda to the UK Australia and USA, and people get manipulated. The worst case of this is how people are getting polarized Against Ukraine By Russian disinformation and Chinese Disinformation. Or how "DOGE" is doing a good job "defunding fraud and abuse of government power" when they make terrible cuts to Staff at the Social Security Administration inside the Federal Government. People in the Russian Government want America to be fooled by Russian Propaganda into thinking Ukraine is bad and DOGE is good. Ukraine is the good guys in reality, while DOGE are the bad guys in reality. Point being this, Russia really wants UK USA and Australia to do poorly to serve their interests right now because they are trying to win a war. This will damage the media landscape if people are too manipulable. I think there is so much intensity right now that people do not have nuance anymore. We all are so polarized because it is indoctrinated in us to hate other people and never to set boundaries. And people get too passive in life. They allow for themselves to indoctrinate themselves into manipulation too much. Just leave good enough alone is my philosophy. And first do not harm. I don't have all the answers.
