This is a reflection on my experience over the last few years on this "social network." I find it ironic that the vast majority of people on this site to date have not responded to messages received, don't comment on pictures, prop posts, or socially interact in any meaningful way. This is not to say that all members don't interact, respond to messages, etc. I speak of the majority, but it is not indicative of the entire whole. By comparison, on facebook the majority of people respond to messages, post comments on pictures and posts, prop posts, etc. Therefore, I ask myself - what makes these two sites so drastically different? I thought that the shared interest in the nudist lifestyle would forge stronger bonds between people on this site, but I have been proven wrong over and over again. I wish that people would be genuine, honest, and actually social on this site. My expectations so far have not been met, and I have been disappointed by my experience. This is not to say that I have not made a friend or two from this site because I'm happy to say that I have. I'm grateful to be able to talk to others about our shared interests, but overall I have been disappointed that this "largest social network for nudists" has in reality proven to be the "largest non-social network for nudists." I hope that my experience will change, but I fear that it will remain constant. I've been on this site off and on for about four years now, and the vast majority of my "friends" on here don't ever communicate meaningfully. Therefore, I ask "what's the point of this site if most people aren't social?" Maybe my experience is unique in its disappointment and others have achieved greater success. UNT.
