St Osyth Beach Essex.

I have often thought about trying a naturist beach some where in the UK. So when I heard about this one at St Osyth whilst I was staying at nearby Clacton-on-sea, I was eager to give it a try. I arranged to meet up with a friend who lives nearby. He also is a keen naturist, and together we set off for the beach. The road coming out of the quaint village of St Osyth cuts through a caravan park. On arrival at the beach we parked up against the sea wall, and walked up to the naturist area. It is just over a mile before reaching the naturist area, and most of it is shingle. Not to be recommended whilst wearing sandals. I have visited the naturist beach at Haulover in Florida, But this one was a “different kettle of fish“. After a teak of some 20 minutes or so, we assumed we had arrived at the naturist area. It was confirmed when we saw someone pop up out of the scrub like a naked Meercat. There was no sign or anything to warn us that we were about to enter a naturist area, or we may meet nude bathers. So we selected a spot and settled down to enjoy the warm sun and gentle breeze. Very soon we became aware of others also nude so we knew we was in the right spot. The beach is a lovely vast expanse of nothing, far from the hustle of the nearby resort, and we both enjoyed a peaceful few hours under the sun and clear sky. The naked swim was the highlight of the day. I think it is only fair to warn you that there are no amenities on the beach itself. There is a café just as you come onto the beach but much too far to make an occasional visit. So you need to take a packed lunch with you together with a plentiful supply of sun cream. There are no toilets on the beach either, so it is wise to use the ones in the café Sadly it came the time to leave. Like all things enjoyable it was over all too soon and gone too fast. Would I go again? Well after the few hours spent on there in peace and quiet? Yes I would. It was quite enjoyable. But next time I will be properly prepared.
