Well, I am new to this. I just joined a little over a couple of weeks ago. Up to now, I have been pretty much an indoor at home nudist with only one adventure to a clothing optional hot springs about eight months ago. I enjoyed being nude in a public place in the freedom of nature. I wanted to find others I could share the experience. So I started looking for sites like this. I tried one site and was not impressed. Then I found this site and was hooked. Within hours of joining, I was contacted by a lady from this site who wanted to get to know me better and have a relationship. Mind you, I was not looking for a relationship when I joined this site. I was only looking for friends. She was 29 and I am 62. Too good to be true? Our age difference should have been a red flag and it kind of was, but I bit anyway. The lady is from Ghana (another red flag?) She wanted to go offsite to email, so we did. But email was too cumbersome, so I suggested we download Skype and try that. We did, we created accounts and started conversing. This format was ideal for our communications. Well, within a couple of days, she started telling me she loved me and wanted to marry me (red flag?) and come to the US to be with me. I really started getting suspicious, but I continued because I was enjoying our conversations so much. THEN, it came, she started asking for money (red flag!). Again I bit. It wasn't a great deal of money, so I took my chances and sent it to her. She did this three more times, although, the third time the money transfer company refused to pay. In reality, I was glad for obvious reasons. I did not see an end in sight. When I relayed to her the company had turned down the transfer, she became defensive and angry with me. BIG RED FLAG! We worked out this this fiasco and all was fine for the next day. Then she starts again. She wants me to use a different company and now she wants me to send a large amount of money telling me she has had a personal tragedy, that her place of work has burned down and she has bills due. By the way, each time she asks for money, the amount gets progressively larger. The red flags are hitting me in the face now. I am stalling now and trying to ask the right questions to determine if she is trying to scam me. I didn't want to believe she was and she was very convincing of her legitimacy, but I am still very suspicious. Finally, in our conversations, I caught her in a lie and confronted her with it. Naturally, she is upset, and starts blaming me for her lie. Well this is where I finally break down and tell her I am not going to send any more money. Of course, I knew this was going to be the end of the relationship and it was. You know, even though I was being scammed and I knew it, it still hurt. I don't know if I can divulge the lady's user name in this blog due to this company's policies, but I would like to so I might warn others of this practice and her. She still has an open account with this site. So unless I find out otherwise, I will just pass this warning on to other users. I will say that she lists herself as being from Dormaa, Berekum, GH. And her About me profile reads, "New here single and honest woman never married before no kid live alone and I'm looking for good and honest man to share my life with and have happiness together I like to be nude when I'm home alone need good man so we go nude together and have happiness together". I can tell you, this woman is anything but honest. Reference this site: https://gh.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/romance-scams/ for information on romance scams from Ghana. She fit the criteria like a glove. Another reference: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-32583161 It has been two days since this has all happened now and I have pondered over my experience The one thing that has been foremost on my mind is not loosing money to a scammer, but the loss of what I thought was going to be a beautiful relationship. The thing I have to tell myself to help with the emotional pain of it is that the person I was communicating with is probably not the person that is pictured on this site. If you would like to know how I was able to determine that the person I was communicating with was not the person advertised on this site, reply to me and I will tell you how I confirmed I was being scammed. By the way, I have since changed my profile to include looking for a relationship. I guess this experience taught me that, even though this wasn't real, I enjoyed bonding with someone. Sad in the US Latest update: The admins for TN pulled her account from this site. No one else should fall victim to her scamming, thankfully.
