I have been an active, card carrying member of the AANR for several years. I actively participate on this site. My at home attire is nearly 100% nude. Anytime the opportunity arises, I find myself in a social nude setting at the beach or lakefront. Whenever possible I declare the virtues of the nudist/naturist lifestyle. I consider myself a true nudist in philosophy and lifestyle. My Wife on the other hand does not participate and has no interest to do so. (This is NOT a rare phenomenon; it seems many husbands have a wife that does not share their nudist lifestyle). However, fortunately for me, mine fully endorses and supports MY nudist lifestyle and philosophy. I thought it would be good to associate with others of like mind and enjoy my social nudity in different venues with other people. Hoping to expand my social nudist horizons beyond a beach or lake front, I recently met with a representative of our local Nudist Club. I had previously met some of the Officers and had a brief discussion with them when they had a booth set up for National Nude Day at my favorite nudist Park. It was obvious that they were soliciting new members. So with my Wife in tow, we headed off for our meeting with the Clubs representative for new members. Our interview seemed to go well. The Club Officer was cordial and friendly. She and my Wife conversed easily. At first, the Club representative seemed eager to talk with us and welcome us as potential new members. When it became clear that although my Wife endorsed MY nudist lifestyle, SHE had no interest or intention of attending or participating in any of the Clubs nude gatherings, things got a little less affable. The Representative expressed reservations about admitting additional single males to the Club because it could be "intimidating for the single women and wives who were in attendance". (I guess somehow being a single male nudist will automatically have an uncontrollable effect, turning one into a wolf without sheeps clothing) If you know what I mean. We filled out the paper work for the usual personal information, background check, etc. Then we were told that my application would be brought up at the next meeting of the Clubs new membership committee. We each said our farewells and went on our way. A few days later I received a reply stating the following: At this time the Club is enforcing the no single male policy. They actually have a couple of married men who enquired about membership over the last year. At this time, the suggestion was to check back toward the end of 2019 if youre still interested in the Club. end quote. I know this is a private club and they have EVERY right to set whatever standard and accept ONLY the individuals THEY deem appropriate. I fully understand and accept that. However, it seems, given the current social climate and social nudity in general, that Nudist Clubs would be more understanding and accepting of fellow True Nudists. My flaw, my Wife does NOT share my passion for the nudist lifestyle. Suddenly, by the Clubs determination, I am rendered single. Wow, I wonder if dissolving a marriage simply by the Clubs decree would hold up in court? There would be no more need for divorce proceedings. Just have your local nudist club declare you single by edict and voil, no more marriage! I know Im illustrating the ridiculous by being ridiculous but I think you can see my point. I am NOT a single nude male. I am a married nude male who must attend social nudist gatherings without the company of my Wife. I know a friend whose wife also does not participate in his nudist lifestyle. So there are times when he attends social nudist events that he takes along another woman who DOES enjoy social nudity as his date. (Renders him no longer 'single') Works for him! Any of you ladies out there who are willing to be on loan to a single nude male who would like to become an active member of his local nudist club and attend various nudist club events? I doubt it. And sountil their mindset catches up with whats happening in social nudist circles in the 21st century I guess Ill have to bear my unfortunate stigma of being a single male nudist and be relegated to remain outside the ranks of my local nudist club. Who would have thought that the views of an organized nudist club would so closely parallel those of an organized religion? Hmmm. Good thing Ive learned to adapt and not allow my stigma to prevent me from fully enjoying my nudist lifestyle outside the ranks of an organized club and continue to share the company of other Nudists who are not hindered by such stringent restrictions. What else is left for we who are ostracized as single male nudists to do? Continue to enjoy our nudist lifestyle unhindered! Jay
