We may be getting somewhere - health fund promotes skinny dipping

Are we getting more mainstream? Is nudism and naturism becoming more socially acceptable? For most of Australia this seems to be the case. During the winter solstice last week two of the coldest cities (Hobart and Canberra) hosted their annual public skinny dips. As I have written elsewhere these events enjoy support legally, politically and from community and business. I have also notated that Sydney enjoys a similar annual event. These events seem to be permeating the general community with a notion that nudity is not sexual in its own right and that there are health benefits to be gained. So I guess it should come as no surprise that a local health care provider (insurer) is running a national radio advertisement that conveys the message that skinny dipping (for Nanna) is a better way to live. That radio campaign is also backed by an online statement, which can be found here: https://www.medibank.com.au/livebetter/be-magazine/wellbeing/sex-heavy-metal-skinny-dipping/ I believe every State except Queensland has at least one legal clothing optional beach, and therefore the opportunity for the other States is not only promoting a healthy way of life but also capturing a tourist dollar. Queensland, my home State, will continue to be left in a past era of all the wrong ideas and beliefs about nudity...but hopefully with a little more awareness like that promoted by this health fund, we may some day get over the line with far greater acceptance of nudity here in Queensland!
