Welcome to Summer & Lake Keowee

Travelites members were joined by Triangle Area members and friends for a wonderful weekend of cameraderie, great food, perfect weather, fun boating, and sightseeing on Lake Keowee in the SC Upstate. Many arrived Friday and enjoyed the fantastic sunset two evenings. Saturday's brunch was perfectly prepared, and there were a number of choices: french toast, eggs, bagels, and a whole lot more. We spent the afternoon on the lake skinnydipping when possible and soaking up the sun and catching up with old friends and new. We visited two waterfalls including Mill Creek Falls and have three more to visit next year. The scenary is unbelievable. Saturday night's Italian themed potluck supper was the best ever. Our host and his wife did a fantastic job with not only arranging this outstanding event, but supplying most of Saturday's fantastic meal. The property has wonderful accommodations and amenities including a hot tub and large deck over looking the mountains where we could sit and relax. Our hosts are starting to plan next year's Welcome to Summer gathering. We are all very appreciative of their efforts and glad y'all could make it. Our next event is July 7th - a pool party to celebrate the US Independence day. You are welcome to visit any time from the 4th through the 8th...just give us a shout. Potluck supper on the 7th. The following event is the 2nd weekend of July: our trip to Whispering Pines and on July 14, our annual canoe trip. We have only 5 canoes left for rental. Let me know please by the end of June if you would like to join us for this enjoyable easy 7-mile float. We put in at Rice Cove Landing @ 11am on 7/14, about an hour from Whispering Pines. This will be followed by on July 21st, our annual Luau & pig pickin' pool party in Hopkins, SC.
