What weather!!

Boy 17 degrees one day and few days later 55-60! Whats a guy to do. Or the horses! Had one horse die of pneumonia. Not sure why she contracted it. She was a healthy young horse. We treated her with potent antibiotics and even put a chest tube into her left chest. Drained ~4 gal of serosanquinous fluuid from around her lung. Too expensive or a necropsy. Se we will never know. Was out in barn naked this morning to do chores. Daughter is away and left her 4 dogs with me. It was 55 in barn, 51 outside with no breeze. Felt good to be able to do the chores naked. It takes about 3 man hours each day in the morning. I was alone so it took me the full 3 hours to feed, turn out, clean stalls, prepare evening feed and hay. I aslo took the opportunity to trim one horses feet. Easier to do nude and without freezing ones fingers off. Well almost nude... I wear shoes and leather chaps. I'm a nudist but not a fool. But the chaps only over the inside of my legs and leave everything else hanging free. Have to hold on to foot with the inside of my knees. If a horse jerks it back best to have some protection. I'm comfortable in just my skin. But, I would like to keep most of it! Rocky
