Tomorrow is the winter equinox here in the Southern Hemisphere and here in Australia that will see two of our major cities host a public nude swim. Canberra and Hobart, two of our coldest cities in winter will host their annual winter equinox nude swims tomorrow. These events have both gained much of a following, despite icy waters and temps, and are well integrated into an arts festival. They are are also well organised, and enjoy political, municipal and law enforcement support. Sydney also has similar event. And like the Hobart and Canberra events it too raises much needed funds for worthy causes. All three events also provide tourism and hospitality business with a little impetus. As a related side note Tasmania even promotes their clothing optional beach, albeit discretely, in its tourism adverts on TV. Meanwhile here in Queensland, where the weather is simply stunning this time of year, we are left debating whether its suitable for a female nipple to be seen on a public beach while breast feeding... OMFG we need some change in this State!
