why do people prefer skype over phone chat

so nudist of 6 years and have not yet meet any friends to hang nude, the ones that are close by do not want to meet and hangout, they always say text me. or im on skype.. technology has mad people so not want to socialize. Text,email, skype is not way to know people or ask questions.. im very very interested in the raising of children as nudist but to send a text or email is a lot of work. with spelling. and a phone call takes less work.. im old school and want to hear people voice...
