Wow! What a ride!

My first semester of teaching has been absolutely insane. I was hired with only 10 days to prepare my course with materials chosen by a different instructor. I had no power-points or videos prepared, so I had to work like crazy to keep up and ahead of my students the whole time. However, I must have been doing something right because every last one of them passed!For fall semester I will be teaching 2 classes in American History, one for the 19th Century and one for the 20th and 21st Centuries...I get to put my own spin on the materials provided by my mentor and have the summer to make my own adjustments to the power-points, etc. which he so kindly gave me to use. Consequently, I am also taking teacher enrichment training courses which will help me to transition from just teaching in the classroom to also teaching online courses.To top everything off...here I am, a first time instructor, and I have been chosen to lead a two week student tour to London in January of 2017! Now to make sure my passport is up to date and pick sites to see both in and out of London proper...castles and Stonehenge and warships! Oh my!So, I am sorry I have not been around but I hope to be as the madness of class prep calms down...my goal is to have everything prepared before the end of July...keep your fingers crossed!L8rz, folks!
