I am a nudist and I am proud to be who I am. I even write blogs and articles for other nudist publications on the subject. As a larger person (overweight, but I am working on it) I have written blogs and articles about people who body shame others. The reason, I have personally lived through it and I find it amazing that even on sites like this (nudist sites), I still get body shamed. Those who body shame have NO idea what being a real nudist is. Those that body shame I believe are in it for other reasons and are not really nudists. So, with that in mind, I had submitted to join a few different groups on True Nudist only to be told I am not what the group is looking for. I understand, they are closed groups for a reason and can accept or deny whomever they choose. However, when the response back was if I was in shape, I would be accepted, thats where I draw the line. Technically, I am in shape, my shape is just a little more well-rounded sort-a-speak, lol. Now, the groups I tried to join were not fitness nudists or bodies that fit societal standards for perfection only groups. They were basic groups of what I thought were other nudists who just wanted to connect in a social environment. I am a part of other groups and have no issues with them and in fact have made a few friends and even have met up with a few other nudists in social settings. The reason I am writing this is to once again warn others to be selective with the groups they choose to participate in. Not just on this site, but everywhere. As a real nudist, I think all bodies are beautiful and I am respectful of each and every one of them. Even if I was perfect by society standards I would be the same way. I love and respect all people. For some people being a nudist came easy, but for others, it was a struggle to be nude in front of others. So please be respectful. To those who are larger or believe them selves to be imperfect as far as their bodies go, let me tell you that you are perfect! You are beautiful! So, strip off those clothes and be proud of who you are! Remember this, there are more people who will appreciate you for who you are than who will body shame you. Yes, body shaming can hurt your self-esteem, but only if you let it. Dont let them win! Be proud of who you are and Nude on my friends! Nude On!
