Blog #2, April 10, 2070 You might be a Nudist if... Happy in My own skin. This, as you can imagine is a loaded topic. How in the world is one to be happy in their own skin? When all, ( okay, I can't say all,( because there ARE those out there, though they be few and far between, who really are nonjudgmental in the ways we all should be)l of today's society are so judgemental, and, dare I say discriminatory when it comes to the ability to simply accept each other in generalIt's so easy to find fault in others because, in reality, we use them as a mirror. We like the least in others, those things we like least about ourselves. Being happy in your own skin doesn't necessarily mean a physical skin. You have to be ready and willing to look beyond the skin, beyond those things that.. 1. may reflect things you see in yourself when you look in the mirror. 2. may reflect things that you WISH you saw in your own mirror. By choosing nudism as a lifestyle, You have to be ready, willing and able per se to accept others as they are, of course,t that means physically first because when you're in a nude lifestyle The first thing you are going to see, is the physical person, the body, as they are, Scars, wounds less than perfect proportions, or what have you. You have to be able to look PAST the physical attributes. You can't really look at the body as a sexual enticement. it goes so much deeper and is so much more beautiful than the momentary, fleeting gratification. And then you have to be willing to take the time to get to know them inside, the things that make them the person that they are, the personality that makes them, them. Their quirks, their likes or dislikes. The overall human makeup, and you have to be willing to allow yourself to be exposed as well because they are needing to assess you in the same way, and that's where your skin comes in because you are what you're made of. This is where I had a hard time personally because I have a lot of scars if you read my blog before you'll know that I was married in a very abusive relationship for many years, that relationship left me with many unspeakable scars, physically, mentally and emotionally, and quite frankly Now I can say I am proud of my scars. I earned every last one (except the scratches from the dog, he gave those freely lol), but it took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that every one of those scars is a battle I survived. I used to be ashamed of my scars. I used to want to hide them. I had two cesarean sections which brought forth two very beautiful children that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. One scar is from a hysterectomy. Another battle scar because it saved my life. The fourth time they entered that scar and created a new one.. yep, my scars are a map to my survival, was last October when I had to have a cage put around my spine so I have four beautiful scars on my lower back, but I'm upright walking. Some people have physical handicaps, or what others consider handicaps.. or disabilities, we need to learn to view them as simply different abilities. Admittedly, sometimes they can be harder to overlook or pretend that they're not there. We as people in general, need to try to understand where the scars came from and that each and every scar a person has is assigned a victory because they're alive. We look at our soldiers and you know they have scars that may be visible, Body parts missing, and you know they're likely struggling with the ability to be happy in their own skin because many of them don't feel like they deserve to be alive, but they do they survived those battles, those scars are beautiful. There part of who they are and their survival. So being part of being happy in your own skin. When you look in the mirror and you see the scars and you see your own imperfections and you see all the things that you think others are judging you about. Youra little overweight or maybe a lot, you have what they call a muffin top, your boobs are starting sag, your penis isnt big enough.. or. it's too big. It's time for Us to decide it's OKAY, and part of that acceptance is what being a nudist is all about. Because we were born naked and by all rights if people were to just to stay that way there would be so much less judgment there would be less bullying, there would be, I truly believe, fewer suicides because of girls and boys being picked on for things have ZERO control over.. If society was more open to and accepting of ALL differences, I believe, nudism as a lifestyle would become considered more of a Norm than an anomaly. Humans should be able to accept each other and themselves as the beautiful people we are inside more so than out. Granted you're going to have people who are beautiful outside and ugly inside, no differently than you do when people are clothed, you're going to have sickos and perverts, but you have to that with clothes also, Just maybe it wouldn't be so prevalent if it weren't so damn taboo So For Now.. I am going to enjoy every moment I can of Being a nudist and living it as a true lifestyle, to the points that society will accept and allow right now. Hopefully one day we can get that changed and nudism will be a more widely accepted lifestyle. But before any of that can happen. Each one of us as an individual has to learn to accept ourselves with all of our scars and all of our wounds. The open ones, the ones that have scared over, Maybe letting them get some air, both figuratively and literally will help US and those around us see that they're part of us and they're part of us that other people who care about us want to get to know, they want to be able to accept us for who we are. just as they want to be accepted. Once you can accept yourself and look in the mirror and say I'm OKAY! I'm okay with my scars, I'm okay with where they came from right or wrong, I'm okay with not being perfect ( there is no such thing as perfect... only progress)Besides.. if we were all what society today considers perfect.. how BORING that would be! Nothing to talk about nothing to discuss or share, everybody would be a clone YUCK! so I guess enclosing and to sum this up: YOU MIGHT BE A NUDIST IF YOU'RE HAPPY IN YOUR OWN SKIN
