Your Last Gift

The small gold cross around my neckis worn in loving memory of you. It was given to me on your birthday,as one last gift of love. Although we weren't close while you were alive,I feel that we are now. Because wearing this cross brings me closerto the memories of when we were young. We grew far apart as we got older,never able to talk again. But oh the things we could have shared,if we had been able to. Some people ask if I ever take it off,and my answer is always the same. Your last gift to me is a precious one,that will never be far away.
