A query about Private Messages

Hi, I have noticed that some private messages which I have sent have fallen off the bottom of my message list.  They have not been read and deleted as the folks they were sent to have not visited the site since they were sent.  I am wondering do they stay active in the other person's in box when they fall off my list or are they deleted?  Thanks.

    I have some older messages in my inbox that I've not deleted, but they are all read.   I don't know if they're not read if they fall off. I do know that if you delete a message out of your sent box before it's been read, the recipient will not have it in his/her inbox any longer.

    Thanks CherieDonna,  I would send them again but as they are to females I might get accused of stalking.  Thin line to tread, between being friendly and seeming pushy.
