  Yes and yes. I spent my whole life avoiding being seen naked because Im smaller than most and society wants us to believe its a representation of how manly we are. I decided I will no longer hide and yes its nerve wracking for me but oh my goodness the freedom is amazing! It is indeed still embarrassing but Im sure thatll go away with time.

But that really doesn't happen anymore, because the only people that see me naked are my wife and other naked people.

  I've been born and raised a nudist, so I do not really understand your question.
  During my youth i've been chocked several times by prudishness of people, I never understood!
  only between the age of 12 and 15 i've had some issues with nudety, but I guess any guy here knows why!

  Only time it feels awkward to me is at home or at friends homes when no one else is nude and there I sit. I can't explain it but my Luann seems to set the mode unintentionally . If she undresses then the other females follows suit, if she does not it's a whole different aura.

  For example last year we and several couples rented a luxury Lake House for a weekend. Night one she was the 1st one naked and so was everyone else in short order. Day two for what ever reason she was in Yoga pants with a top on. Not one person got naked no matter what was mentioned about it. I can't explain how she seems to set the tone of the room though she would not care if there were people getting naked. I do get she is highly respected and friends don't want her to be offended.

  I've talked to her about it trying to figure it out over the years but it seems to be just the way it is and how she feels in the moment. I can figure out complicated equipment on the job but this is something above my pay grade.

  Wow, I have had hundreds of massages that were both professional and not so professional or legal should I dare say. By both women and men. That blew over after a short course of time thankfully. The second was from a decades long time friend of mine that she got pretty wined up, got naked in the hot tub with all of us and I haven't heard from her in months.   I didn't feel embarrassed in my first socially nude event. But I did have an embarrassing thing happen.
  I had gotten home from a long trip, feeling grimey, so I walked in the door and stripped in anticipation of a shower. I decided to get on Truenudists first. So, I was sitting nude in my office, chatting with a couple of friends.
  Suddenly there was a knock on the door. My neighbor lady was there. She knew I was home and she tried calling me first but I didn't answer, but she needed help so she came over. Here was the issue, the door she knocked on was a full glass door and she was 4 feet from me. What could I do, I had to answer the door. I apologized and she said it was no problem. However, her eyes never left the floor. I asked her to wait while I grabbed some clothes, which she did. She told me what help she needed, which I provided, and I apologized again. Interestingly she said it was o.k. as she felt if you've seen one, you've seen them all. I guess that tells me she did see my all. Anyway, I felt embarrassed because she appeared to be embarrassed. Frankly, I am surprised she hasn't seen me naked before this happened. Maybe she has and that's why it wasn't a big deal to her. I have a few others but this is a fairly recent one.

  For me, yes extremely. I was quite young and decided to answer an advert for someone chasing a nude model for photographs. Don't know what I was thinking but wanted to try it anyhow.

  What an intriguing story imnakednow. Was your mom getting paid for your modeling or was this rather embarrassing situation she threw you into for some other reason? And you didn't say whether or not she gave you any choice in the matter. It's a good thing you eventually got comfortable with all the strangers who saw you nude and possibly erect and your surroundings, but I find it plain weird that the supposedly professional people in charge of the affair wouldn't let you at least wear a gown on your way from the bathroom where you took off your clothes to the room where the shoot took place.   I used to feel embarassed when someone who didn't know of my nudisty tendencies saw me without my clothes, but over time I got past that and nothing embarasses me. I would not be comfortable knowingly making someone else uncomfortable however. I was embarassed at first when my mother in law caught me nude, but that was because I thought it would be a problem, but it turned out not to be an issue. My first time on a busy nude beach convinced me that it was fun to be in a crowd without clothes. One time when we were travelling with a tour group in Greece I was walking on the nude section of a beach and a woman from our group waved to me so I walked over and talked with her (clother) and her husband who was like me, nude. It was fun, and we never spoke of it on the tour afterword.

  As with many in earlier comments, I must say that nervousness and a little apprehension were the order of the day but not embarrassment. I had checked into visiting a small nudist retreat and was told to come down that weekend and say hello. I drove down, found the place out in the woods and as I parked saw a few guys nude. I may have been a little anxious and obviously a newbie but managed to get nude and wander about the area. I spoke to a couple of folks, found out the guy who told me to come down was not there and proceeded to say hello to whoever I encountered. After a few minutes, I found a member and recounted my story. Without further ado, he introduced me around and I throughly enjoyed the day. I went back many times and am now a member. Its was and is a good experience.
