Naked truth: Aging nudists seek new skin in the game as ranks dwindle

  IMHO, I believe that nudism can be compared with the wild frontier days of the old west. Things never really settled down and became civilized until women in sufficient numbers arrived to tame the wild pioneers. The few brave women who dared go west had to fight for their right just to be there and not be harassed.
  
  There exists a similar problem within the nudist movement. Too many young males consider it open season on the few women who do choose to be nude. For too many young women, there is too little to gain to being a nudist so they stay away.
  
  This youthful male mind set needs to be changed and it probably will be the women who can do it.
  
  I believe this is also why you'll find the majority of today's nudists seem to be retirees or empty nesters.

  I think the older male mindset needs to change as well. It seems to me that when a fresh young female face appears, they are overwhelmed by the attention of the older men. While nudism may not be sexual...younger women will attract younger men, if the old farts don't scare them off 1st!

  The comments above are certainly accurate. But the article indicates a sharp decline since 2008. Once the economic conditions get back to prosperity, so will industry related to nudism.

Nudism will continue to decline because of the bad name it has through the actions of an ever increasing perverted population.

But there's something else at work here.....the population at large is getting increasingly fed up with every perversion out there being "legitimized"....ie, no one dares complain hearing about them 24/7. People are frustrated and the list of so-called safe targets to rail against is getting shorter every day. Nudists are still fair game, there are no civil rights groups, marches, campaigns against advertisers for us. No news editors are telling reporters and broadcasters to refrain from tittering and making bad puns at our expense when stories of nudists appear. Must be tough keeping a straight face for fear of losing their job when reporting that California now must allow boys in school to use girls bathrooms and locker rooms because they "feel" like a girl that day, so they're going to let loose when those pervert nudists make the news.
