Nudist Birthplans?

I was watching an Australian tv show about a gynacologist and one of her patients, a pregnant woman and her partner (male) asked if everyone involved in their birthplan could be naked. This weirds her out.

Now on telly the baby comes out clean and its often less messy. So im not sure how appealing this is for others but are there women and couples who have done this and how was it recieved, how did it turn out having naked midwife or dr? Or are you a midwife/dr that would do this. Explain your thoughts?!
