Bump threads...a rant

...I am disgusted by all the "bump" threads that have sprung up, that are pushing off all the useful information on this forum. I believe I was the first one to "bump" a thread off the home page 2 and a half years ago.  It was someone promoting a sex site. But I did it by posting on worthwhile threads NOT by creating dumbass, useless, multiple "bump threads.

I'd like to remind everyone that "bumping" was NEVER intended to push off a thread that one didn't like or felt was redundant. It was used to remove threads from the home page that CLEARLY violated forum posting rules, along with a notification to TT1 to remove the offending thread and member. As sick and tired as I am of them, I, personally, would far rather see a "what do I do if I get an erection" thread than the "bump" threads.  At least that has useful information for the newbie in it.

How about this, folks...POST to one of the MANY useful, informative or humorous threads instead. Bump the "bump" BS off the home page.  I swear I'm going to make a list of all of them and ask TT1 to remove them all.

Worse, they promote curiosity as to what was "bumped" off the public page, and why.....

    Agree, Curt.  Phil, great minds...!

I'm also annoyed by just using the word "bump" to move  athread to the home page. (Although I've probably been guilty of that my self).  Linda was the master of just quickly adding a sentence to a thread.  We should have/could have/would have learned from her.

    Hugs to you both,

    Jen
P.S. Phil, I added a verse or two for you to the "rhyming thread", but I think you may have missed them.
