After meeting my very good friend for a few beverages in the pub the other night, we went back to my house for a few after closing, she knows I dont wear anything in the house if im on my own.
After a while chatting she looked at me saying, If you want to strip off I dont mind its your house do what you like.
I so wanted to but couldn't do it, No idea why.
Im thinking that maybe as it would be the first time with someone there maybe.
Anyone else had this happen or is it just me, being a boob.

    Let me get this straight.
You are in your home. - You are a man. - You are drinking with a woman. - She asks you to get naked. - I don't see the problem.

I would have taken that to be an invitation for something more. My consideration would have been if I wanted this relationship to go any further. If I wanted, or would have accepted, a more intimate relationship, then I would have undressed. If nothing further developed, then you still would have been more comfortable in your own home.

Nudity is about being comfortable and sounds like she wouldn't have been at that time. Next time you might try it and if after a short time you are uncomfortable being nude while the other is dressed then you could put a light cover on and explain that you didn't feel right and invite them to join you.
No failure there.  She gave you permission.  That was a big step for her...and you.  She obviously found out that you are a nudist.  Did you tell her?  It did not upset her.  Maybe it made her curious so she said you could. Your place could have been chilly that night.  Next time she comes over, you can ask her if she was serious.  Tell her you did not go nude then because you were not sure if she was just being polite.  You can continue by saying you would and that she can join you at any time if she would like. Let us know how this progresses.
She knows I am now did finally admit to her and she has been great.
    Thanks for the constructive advice.

She is a very good friend of mine and has been for some time, sure she understands, but guess I didnt want to make her feel uncomfortable.
Barebuns ... I think you made the right decision.  The door will be open again in the future and then you can step through it ... maybe your friend will join you next time.  Not doing it this time ... sent the right message that nudity isn't ALWAYS for sex.  Good luck next time.  :D
Thanks
Its my decision not to wear clothes, she understands and your so right its not a sexual thing at all its just my preference not to wear clothes.

I am finding this scenario increasingly hard to fully understand.  Having a drink with a person who is not a naturist who you have recently told that you are a naturist.  So far so good.  Then your non-naturist friend says words to the effect "Well get naked for me then!" What motive and why should you oblige?  If they are into life drawing and have suggested you posing for them then perhaps.  If they have at least hinted that they may get naked too but need some encouragement then may be perhaps.  If they simply want to see you naked then why should you indulge their request unless you are simply an exhibitionist.  Many naturists have no qualms about being naked on a beach with non-naturist friends but being effectively asked to prove your naturist belief by getting naked on request is mere entertainment.

I see this type of scenario as essentially sexual which may be what you want and they may also want it in which case you would most likely undress each other and let events take their natural course.  This has little to do with the naturist life style and everything to do with what consenting couples do in private.

I had a forum buddy who is female and yes I am male, this lady I never actually met but she used to comment on the many nude pictures men posted on the forum and never once posted a nude picture of herself.  I used to exchange emails and chat about various things.  In one of her emails she mentioned that she was a keen cyclist and had met a fellow lady cyclist whom she confided in her naturist beliefs, this lady confided that she was in fact gay.  Well one day after a long bike ride they went to her house for a coffee.  While my friend was sitting down her friend went to make the coffee and returned with the coffee  but stark naked completely unexpected.  Her friend had completely misjudged the reaction and they never saw each other again, now that was a "Naked Failure".
NudeJohnny, You must not be a bike rider otherwise you would not that any vibrations on a bike are not they same as you receive from a vibrator.  You do NOT get aroused from it. Freecospirit, sounds like there is a big communication issue.  It could have been that your friend's friend was just trying to make your friend more comfortable by being nude.  She may have assumed that your friend is comfortable nude so she would not mind.  However, she probably should have mentioned it first.  Or maybe not.
How could you possibly know "You do NOT get aroused from it" ? You been peekin in my pants?

I haven't had that happen, but I can't say I would have responded any differently. If it seems right it seems right, if it doesn't it doesn't. I wouldn't feel bad about it either way.

I don't call it a fail - just possibly a little insecurity being around another clothed person.
I too am not sure how I would react today but I'm sure I would strip off.  (older, more confident possibly)  However, I do recall one occasion quite a few years ago (about 30 years ago) whilst holidaying in Sweden seeing one of my wife's University friends who originated from Scotland and now lives there, we took a trip to a nearby but reasonably secluded lake.
She asked if I wished to take a dip in the lake (it was early in the season and would have been fairly chilly)  I said that I didn't have any swimwear with me (though we did have towels to sit on) and she basically replied, "This is Sweden - no worries about that!"  But whilst I considered going for it and having that quick dip, my wife's look and shake of the head quickly discounted that idea.
Sometimes I wonder what she would have said if I had stripped off then.  If my wife's friend had stripped off, I would certainly have joined her, despite MOH's looks.
