I heard the NKN are fighting to get Doe Run recognized as a legal nudist area. Has anyone ever been there? They are claiming it has historically use as a clothes free area but have never heard it mentioned before.

ScottOriginal PosterMay 17, 2026I saw it on multiple platforms, even thier local news broadcast coverage. I think the non-landed club is holding a rally there over the holiday weekend sometime.

ScottOriginal PosterMay 17, 2026It appears to be the Bluegrass State Naturist group leading this. They are on Facebook, wonder if there are any on here?

PatrickMay 17, 2026From what I'm seeing, it is misinformation. The Park is owned by the county. And they do not tolerate nudity. The group wants to change that. But it hasn't happened yet.

ScottOriginal PosterMay 19, 2026I hoping Bluegrass Naturist might be right and the site is/was being use unofficially regardless what the park said. A lot of recognize areas nowadays started with historical usage and convinced the city/state to recognize or at least tolerate the usage. One can hope.

DonMay 19, 2026Well, looking at everything through Google Earth, I do not see how this lake could be used for nude use when every bit of shoreline can be seen from at least one house in the area. But, GE shows the lake way down from maximum capacity. so perhaps there are a few hidden spots, or they are using the area away from the water nude ... but how fun would that be? Should be interesting to see what develops.
