Want to make friends, but I am straight. Don't want to discourage anyone from becoming a friend, but how do I let a gay man know I'm not interested without sounding like an ass?

    Different guys take it different ways. For example, I'm pan but I lean towards female myself. If me ask me about it, I just tell them im more interested in females, or I tell them that the situation makes me uncomfortable and they start to back off. It's the older ones (40+) that are hard to get rid of so I just tell them "id rather be friends and not ruin the realationship".
