I taste an amazing scotch about 40 yrs ago - it took me 20 ys to find out it was from Islay
Lagavulin 16 is probably my favorite.
But just bought a 30 yr Buichladdich for my retirement

    Happy Retirement! I have a Distiller's Edition Oban 1989 I'm waiting to open when I finally retire. Oban is one of my favorite, not an Islay but a Highland but you can see the sea from the city so it does have some Islay notes to me.
