How do you deal with your ED? My answer is, not very well.
How do you cope with being unable to sport an erection?
How do you deal with your ED? My answer is, not very well. How do you cope with being unable to sport an erection?
I'm not quite there, but seem to be going down that road. I can still get it up and have a solid erection, but not for very long. And I only get a good erection if I'm actively jerking or someone is kind enough to be sucking. I do certainly miss being able to sport a boner. I'm switching doctors again. My last doctor moved -- not a great distance but he was already quite a drive. Another five miles was motivation enough to find someone else. At any rate, going to bring it up with the new doctor. I've tried Viagra and Cialis. Viagra gives me a splitting headache and Cialis sets off my Restless Legs Syndrome.

Cialis has helped me quite a bit. I also gave up coffee and that helped a bit too. I used to drink lots of coffee, but quitting brought my blood pressure down and my cock up a little.
I miss my younger stand straight up self, but a stiff one at any angle is nice.

I've tried to come to terms with my limp wee wee. Talked to it kindly. Looked for support with pharmaceuticals. Still he refuses to comply. The son of a bitch!! So I just shrug my shoulders and try a little bit of acceptance

Still, I would kill for a stiff one.
How do you deal with your ED? The penis poem by Willy Nelson: My nookie days are over, My pilot light is out. What used to be my sex appeal, Is now my water spout. Time was when, on its own accord, From my trousers it would spring. But now Ive got a full time job, To find the gosh darn thing. It used to be embarrassing, The way it would behave. For every single morning, It would stand and watch me shave. Now as old age approaches, It sure gives me the blues. To see it hang its little head, And watch me tie my shoes!!

I've been prescribed Sildenafil which helps, I think my ED is down to my diabetes and I can be quite stressed at times. It may/may not be a cause but I was circumcised as a kid and maybe the lack of sensation might not help

Thank God we live in an age with Viagra. I find proper viagra and not generic works best and gives the least headaches but it is odd that sometimes they take 30 mins and other times an hour to kick in. I've found that any alcohol seems to make them not work at all . I often do half a pill for a good wank and it has helped reduce the headaches quite a lot. I suppose your body needs to get used to them

I suspect there is a genetic element to it and I'm sure things go slower with age too but diabetes is probably my main cause as I had no problems until my 40s. Hopefully you can get your diabetes under control. Mine is excellent but i think the issue will always be there. You just have to enjoy loads more foreplay and be a bottom hahah.

A few friends are on them too so its no big deal these days. Things might take a bit more time but that's not a bad thing!

I used to take Viagra to give my mate Willy an occasional boost when he was a bit shy. Later, following major surgery, Willy was unable to stand to attention on his own. I was prescribed Alprostadil to inject the little fella. That worked really well for a couple of years, the best erections I ever had and great staying power. Unfortunately those glory days came to an end, the injections just stopped working for some reason. So for the past couple of years my best friend looks sad, with his head held down. To add insult to injury, the old adage "use it or lose it" has become a reality for Willy. He was never the biggest chap, but he could put on a show when required. Willy doesn't get the same exercise and associated blood flow he used to, hence some shrinkage. If I wake up during the night needing a wee, Willy will sometimes be half awake, which is a nice experience. I do miss the glory days, but things could have been a lot worse for me. So it is what it is. I still regularly play with Willy and when I wank it's a "soft" wank, but still ending with an orgasm. I'm sure some guys see Willy and think he's not the biggest friend a guy could have and, in certain situations, wonder why he doesn't come out to play. But Willy and I can still have a good time, we just play differently to how we used to.

mine has been on the wane for many years, I started with cock rings that help keep the little fella up when he gets there but it didnt happen as often as I liked :) I was prescribed Sildenafil which helps a lot. But one thing I did notice when getting older that you have to focus, he wouldnt get hard because I felt horny I had to find the triggers that got him going... so with Sildenafil and cock rings I'm managing. Of course the other (dis)advantage is you dont need it so often! Well I dont, your experience may vary...

Im 47 and have had trouble with getting and maintaining an erection for ever. About 5 years ago I stopped getting my morning one and then stopped getting any at all a year after that. In that year my Doctor put me on a statin for cholesterol and a blood pressure medication. Then gave my cialis for daily use at 10 mg . I was then able to get an hard for a few years but that stopped working also until I stopped all prescription meds and went with herbs to control blood pressure, cholesterol with good success. I also started taking a hormone regulating herb called DIM which gave me back my morning wood and also helped me get quicker erections in general. If I skip the morning or evening dose no morning wood the next morning. For all who are interested research phytoestrogens in males. Thats what steered me in the right direction. Any other questions feel free to ask.

I've noticed just this year that I'm not getting the erection I used to even last year. I have to go to a naughty club and play with a few gentlemen to get it back. I'm just a gentle hands on type that seems to get most aroused among men now. I think it's the touch, they seem to know how to operate the machinery. Strange when most of my life I was married and thought I was pretty straight. Another string to the bow. I only seem to be attracted to older men, my age ,they really have turned my pump on. Thank you to all you masculine mature men who have opened another door in my life. I'd welcome any comment or communication with you cheers
How do you deal with your ED? My answer is, not very well. How do you cope with being unable to sport an erection?
I see that this topic started 3 years ago. At the age of 58 as I am now, I can only get fully erect when reading or watching certain porn stories/video's ! When reading the stories, I can stay erect for a good 30 mins or more, depending on how good the story is and also my vivid imagination. I started to lose my erections some years ago, the relationship I was in back then was not very touchy feely, or rather he wasn't, as he didn't think he had to make the effort to participate in foreplay and the afterglow, as long as he got what he wanted, it didn't matter about me. Plus being on BP meds and also being diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic within the last year has not helped, plus all the meds I now have to take. Have any of you suffered with premature ejaculation also ? My frenulum has become really sensitive over these past years, and if I do masturbate, I am lucky if I get past 3-5 minutes before I cum, I used to enjoy hour long or more jerk sessions. I also found out from the net, that Beta Blocker meds also have a habit of switching off the receptor in your body that helps you get erect and stay so. Why can't they make the damn meds so that they don't do this to you ? I also used to take Viagra, I only found I got a headache if I used 100mg, I personally found 75mg perfect for me, but each of us is different with meds. But since I also had a mild heart attack, I can no longer take or use Viagra or Cialis for the risk of having another heart attack. I do agree with what someone says on here that sensual touch can and would hopefully help with someone maintaining an erection, plus it also comes down to a certain level of trust over time, failing that you can still love each other and enjoy some hot kissing and cuddling sessions. I also found that my testosterone levels are lower than normal, but the damn doctors would not give me anything to help boost that, which pisses me off as I, even at 58 have a right, as we all do to enjoy and have a fulfilling sexual life.
