Does anyone know the approximate ratio of textile hikers to nude hikers?
Is it all canyons, or are there also large, flat desert expanses?

RichardSep 6, 2025There is a naked hiking group that goes to the Mecca Hills every Tuesday and Thursday. It is all nude, usually about a dozen hikers (depends on the temperature and time of year).

I thought they were only Oct thru May like the full moon hikes? If they're going on now, I'll try and make it out Tuesday.

They do hike at other times depending on weather temps and if the hikers want.

AlSep 7, 2025The Mecca Hills hikes are Tuesday and Thursday year round. I have been on several and never encountered any clothed hikers (all in the group are naked males). Ive gone out with a friend and we didnt encounter any clothed hikers then either. Do you know the details of meeting time and place for the groups?

JimDec 6, 2025To answer your question about canyons vs flat, it is a bit of both. The hills are no more than a few hundred feet high if that and there are areas that are wide open alluvial plains or narrow slot canyons. Very open area and you can find a deserted area with no cars to park and just take off. Nude hiking is legal there per BLM. If you park in a lot with cars you may run into clothed hikers or not. I've hiked there nude several times alone and the only people I've run into was one Tuesday when I was overtaken by the large nude hiking group. At least 30 it seemed that day. We kind of surprised each other. The SCNA also does hikes out there once or twice a year and usually on weekends.
