This article is from two years ago, but I ran across it yesterday. It is [link]/link/fb6f95e990e9e839/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubGF3ZWVrbHkuY29tL3RoZS1yaXNlLWFuZC1mYWxsLW9mLWEtbnVkaXN0LWNvbG9ueS10aGF0LXNjYW5kYWxpemVkLWwtYS1pbi10aGUtMTkzMHMv[/link]an LA Weekly piece on Mystic Oaks, a defunct club outside of Los Angeles:
An old, vandalized sign indicates that you are entering a place named Mystic Oaks. A short drive down the road, you hit what looks like the entrance to an abandoned camp chicken-wire gate, a wooden sign for Mystic Oaks, KEEP OUT and BEWARE OF DOG postings. Behind the gates, there is no one, just the remnants of wooden buildings and scurrying lizards. Despite its current foreboding feel, for more than 70 years this secluded camp was the refuge of pioneering nudists who danced, sunbathed and played naked in the dusty sun.
The camps isolation kept it out of view of prudes and law enforcement, although at least two movies were filmed there. It closed in 2007.
