Returning to our most basic instinct

Smelling each other to get aquianted, is seen across the animal kingdom, irrespective of the gender. smell of a person, also plays a major role in humans. For babies to recognize the presence of their mothers, couples to fell more connected to each other, etc.

Why is that the acknowledgement of feeling the connection with the smell of other men, is something of a taboo for men? Why is it not easy to enjoy the sweaty (but clean) musk of other men who are important to us in our lives? We all like the smell of different parts of our own body. Why can't we bond with others, having tried theirs?
