  I've heard everyones experience is different pain wise. I've had family members go through it and for what its worth their advice is its not worth it.

  Yes years ago found it somewhat reduced my output but sex was so much better.

  Funny how little this is talked about.
  First off, schedule the procedure with a Urologist. Almost every time I've heard of someone having issues it's been because they had it done by a general practitioner. (Either that or guys trying to do too much too soon afterwards.) It's what a Urologist does day in, day out. Let them handle to procedure. During the procedure they should fold the tubes as well as tie them off - this prevents the tubes from accidentally growing back together. The incisions are pretty tiny with just a couple stitches to close them up.

  One advice a buddy gave me, and I pass it along to my buddies is, if you don't already, start shaving your balls now. They will shave you for the procedure and you don't want to deal with that first-time itchy grow back when you have the sutures. Start shaving now and you'll be used to it by the time they do the snip with no itch.

  All of our bodies are going to react differently, but personally, I had no issues and found it to be an easy procedure. Make sure you take a few days off and ice (bag of frozen peas) often. Follow doctor's orders and just allow yourself time to heal; keep activity down to minimal for the first couple days. At first my ejaculate was more watery but sensations were the same. If I remember correctly there was a little blood the first few times but cleared up in a day/two and the consistency did thicken up over time as well. My wife used to joke that it's like Miller Lite - tastes great, less filling LOL. Make sure you do the follow up tests before going to town to make sure everything is in the clear. Sex/orgasms have been great and having spontaneity is a plus!

  Never regretted doing it. Two kids was enough for us.

  I've had it done and didn't listen to rest afterwards. I got an infection and paid the price of pain. Get it done. GOOD. Work afterwards. NO.

  I had it done, and ever since wished I hadnt. I am one of the unfortunate ones whose body reacted to the sperm. Once cut the sperm is absorbed into the body, can get into the bloodstream and cause an allergic reaction, form
  antibodies to attack the sperm the body thinks is an invader.I developed a large painful granuloma,. About 6 years of pain before it went away. Other illnesses have followed, Drs say no link but always at back of mind. I was not informed of any side affects, if I had known I would not have had it done. Sex wise no difference. The establishment wants men to have it for population control, funny how waiting list is so short. My doctor couldnt get me in there quick enough.

  I had mine done about 38 years ago and I was surprised how little pain I had afterwards as I expected it to be bad. It had no impact on my sex drive at all. I heard someone once saying "you only take the kid's out the play park, the park is still there" and that sounded like the correct description to me

  I had mine done more than 10 years ago. My Urologist was fantastic. He didn't even use needles for the local anesthesia. He used what can be best described as a "hypo-spray' gun like in Star Trek. (Felt like a rubber band snap on my sack and then nothing.) Procedure took less than an hour with only 1 small incision. (No stiches) My tubes were snipped and then cauterized and off I went. I was tender for a couple days but still got on with my daily routine. I'm glad I did it. Wish I had done it in my 20s! LOL

  I had mine done about 24 years ago, while I was in the military. Everything went perfect! However, they used a lazer to cotterize the tubing instead of stitching. The lazer emits a "beeeeeep" sound before it shoots! That was the most painful thing I have ever felt in my life! I had to hear that (and feel it) twice. I just braced myself for the second beep, but it didn't help. I'll never forget that sound! I was in a neckbrace for 6 months when I got the procedure done and I told the doctor that it hurt more than my neck injury ever did. I actually had two different doctors cut and lazer me. They each did one testicle. I followed all their instructions and everything was fine for me. Although, the first time I ejaculated (6 weeks later) it felt like I had air in the pipes (kind of cool though).

  I'm 62 an had mine 2 days ago. I wanted to have it done 25 years ago after our third child was born, I was ready and happy with 3 kids. My wife was initially but then got cold feet, she needed to agree at that stage as I recall. We got by and she went back on the pill to regulate her cycle at the time, it was all over the place. She had to have a procedure a couple of years later and the female doctor asked if she wanted her tubes tied, she did and we we fine. Sadly she lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer a few years ago and i have a new partner who is 49 and still having a period. She is pre-menopausal and wants to go onto therapy to help with that and can't be on the pill, so I got the snip. I thought at 62 I may set some sort of record but no, older men than me have had it. So far so good, quite a bit of pain later the same day, pain yesterday but has reduced today. He left the vas tube from the teste open, cut out a piece and tied off the tube above the piece of the tube cut out. The worst part was the local given first and then the clamps to hold the vas in place before the incision & section cut out. Now it's just time until I give a sample to show no swimmers are left.

  Hi, I came on to say "don't worry about the procedure, it's no big deal" because that's how mine was about 17 years ago shortly after our son was born. My wife had 1 terrible experience after the other with birth control so I agreed getting snipped was our best option.
  Did it on a Fri after work, was less than an hour, no stitches, went home slept alot over the weekend, had very minimal pain, went back to work on Monday. Followed all the instructions and used the bag of peas and everything was fine.
  The worst part was having to leave my deposit to be tested afterwards, (making sure there no more swimmers) which was just in the bathroom of the lab in the lobby, not the worst place I've done it I guess but for sure not the best. Haha!
  The whole thing for me was not a big deal at all but very very sorry to read the stories of the guys whose experience was not good.

  Thanks for the comments. I'm healed and all is good, working well. I just have another month before I have to provide a sample to test for swimmers. Hoping that's a good outcome so my partner can be off the pill.

  I had the procedure done in the hospital years ago, after we were advised not to have any more children to my wife's health..
  The doctor was a urologist, and worked quietly and quickly as I lay exposed after the aesthetic
  Two small incisions, he found the tubes and after cutting he cauterised the ends to prevent reconnecting, the a couple of stitches.
  I followed the advice and had a bit of pain , but no complications
  Once the test was cleared it was easy to get back to enjoying sex again without anything to worry about.
  Not had any further problems.

  I did have a few issues more than a month after the procedure. I was doing lots of leg exercises to get ready to go skiing, lots of squats, lunges etc. It caused an infection inside the scrotum where the wound was, my sack blew up to the size of a grapefruit, very painful and sore. I had to see a Doctor and had some medication to reduce the swelling and heal the infection, it was not fun. Was all good in a week or so, working as normal and I got to go skiing too.

  This was my fault not the procedure, I over exercised when I should have taken things more easily. There is a lesson there for others, listen to your Dr.!! They know stuff .... haha.

  I got mine last year. The procedure was near painless, they do put in a local anesthetic like a dentist. After that no pain. They give you a great script for pain killers, but I didn't really need them after the second day. But that varies from person to person. Whole thing took like 30min from the check-in to the check-out. And my wife had a smoothie bowl waiting for me when I got out. You are required to have a driver. But no ejaculation pain, I would even say my rebound time is reduced.

  I didn't have that done but I did need my left one removed because it died. I've had issues with it my whole life so it was a good thing it finally happened cause now it don't give me any pain anymore but during ejaculation I do feel it trying to pull from that side.
