SteveJun 22, 2023My regular practice is the usual Soto Zen one, facing a blank wall, an approach that starts at a fairly inward-focused place. In nature - and the insect pressure on our farm is such that for this purpose "nature" means somewhere else - I find I'm more contemplating than meditating. Kinhin - the formal walking meditation - is easier for me to do outdoors; our temple has experimented (not naked, of course) with doing kinhin out on the grounds.
