  When we bought our house before we had a chance to warn my neighbor she found out on her own. We were swimming in our pool and sunbathing nude when she walked into our back yard because she heard our music playing and had knocked on our door and we didnt answer. So she came through our side gate because we didnt hear her. As she rounded the corner she was introduced to us both laying on loungers nude and I just walked over to ask her if she needed something and we introduced ourselves never once apologized for our nudity but she did mention that her son and friends could see our pool from his bedroom. She said he was 18 so we didnt care about being seen naked.

  I haven't warned anyone but word gets around. They have warned each other. I live in a rural area and neighbors cant see my house or even into my yard around the house. A few people have showed up unexpected and discovered I was naked and one was snooping around the edges of my property. They all know to call before they show up here.

  My back garden is surrounded by tall trees. All my neighbours (and the rest of the village) know I'm a nudist. They know I'm likely to be naked in the garden when it's warm enough. Only one can see in and then only from a bedroom window. They accept my nudity - she has come over to talk to me while I was naked behaving as if nothing was out of the ordinary. Another neighbour complained that she couldn't see into my garden. Knowing what she would see she cut down one of the screening trees (it has regrown since).

  Occasionally a neighbour has come into my garden while I've been sunbathing. They know what to expect but sometimes are surprised.

  I couldn't agree more, I believe that if kids were exposed to more nudity instead of voilence the world would be a better and safer place

  I haven't told my neighbors and probably won't. Our house sits on 2 1/2 acres with at least 100' from the neighbors on each side. On one side my backyard is covered with palmetto bushes and the house is set back from the house on that side so no worries. On the other side our house is again set back from the garage apartment there. They have horses in the back portion and the barn is on the other side of their property so unless they are out back with the horses than they can't see me. I know their horses have gotten an eyeful though!

  The little I've tried has met with some resistance. But fortunately we have land on the mountains where it's mostly isolated. But I do wear something light most of the time around the buildings in sight of neighbors passing by on occasion randomly. Except when I know there's no one around, and stepping out at night. Some light loose shorts is next door to naked, so it's no big deal. But I work a lot off in the woods and back where I'm clearing land for agriculture ventures, so I can get in plenty of naked working time. Although now through early spring the weather will limit it to the occasional warmest days. The last 3 days have been very nice and I got in a good bit of time cutting firewood up there clothless.

  Neighbor 2 houses away has been cutting our mutual next door neighbor's grass as he is 80+ and not up to doing it any more.
  Today he accidentally cut my pool return line that runs along the fence. He said he would fix it later in the day.
  Since he is well over 6' tall, I told him to let me know when he was going to do it since I only wear a swimsuit when we have company.
  He replied that if he had a pool and fence like mine, he wouldn't wear one either.

They all know to call before they show up here.[/quote] Living in a very rural area, with only a small number of people living within a mile each direction, I can attest to the "word gets around" factor! That's true of just about everything, in fact. Between being "caught" several times over the years, photographed by my hunting friends trail camera, and the "Clothing Optional" signs that I had posted on my porch and fence for a few years, it's pretty much community knowledge that I'm a nudist. Proof of general knowledge came along again recently when a guy that lives 1/2 mile from me (my nearest neighbor on that side) pulled into the driveway on his ATV. Working in the back yard, and hearing the ATV, I went to the gate to see who it was. Oddly, I was actually dressed at the time. When he heard me opening the gate, he hollered "get out of the pool and put some clothes on and come on out here". He was grinning about it. One of these days, he'll do that and I'll be nude...and I'll come on out that way!

  A little while back I was having a Sunday afternoon cocktail with one set of my neighbors and because my shorts are always sliding down it prompted his wife to ask am about my tan lines or lack there of. So I let them know that I tan nude sometimes in our boat in the driveway so as not to offend all the neighbors (because no other neighbors can see). Then I pointed out that some of the windows in their house would easily be able to see if I was out tanning and both proceeded to mention that it would not be a problem.
  I haven't been out tanning when they are home since but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. I just hope they remember our previous conversation so its not a surprise to them.
  They are very cool neighbors bye the way.

  We got a new neighbor (single male) on the side that has a partial view of my pool even over the privacy fence. I had put up some screening above the fence so that he couldn't see over it. I took it down recently. He made a comment wanting to know why I had it there in the summer. I told him I usually did my swimming, sunning and pool maintenance nude. He said I didn't need to bother with it for his sake and he didn't care what I wore or didn't wear, even if he could see something over the fence.

  We had a younger couple move in next door to us last year. We have gotten to know them pretty well and they were over a couple weeks ago and I started up the firepit. the neighbors across the street joined us, After a while the young couple was talking about how they were having problems keeping clothes on their 2 year old. I was telling them to just leave him alone. There is nothing wrong with it, That's when my dear wife blurted out, he's ( pointing at me ) naked in the yard all the time... I don't think it phased any of them. I guess it is safe to says they have now been warned.

  I havent warned any neighbors, and I generally dont go outside naked. However, one time I went outside to throw some extra garbage in the can on the curb. My neighbor was returning from walking her dog. She gasped and said my name but nothing else. Turns out my penis was poking out of my pajama shorts! She never said anything about it and is very civil when we chat. Unintentional but kinda thrilling at the same time.

  I've lived at the same residence all my life and seen neighbours come and go over the years. I've always gone out in my side garden and rear garden in the summer months naked and never had a problem with it for the last thirty years, however my next door neighbours (older couple) lived there a good many years moved away a couple of years ago and I'd not really took notice. My new neighbours are younger and although I was sure on a couple or so occassions from their upstairs bedrooms they had seen into my side garden with me naked in there, nothing has ever been said until recently. In September this year the weather over here was still quite warm and one day I walked out the back door naked with a bin liner full of food stuff to put in the outer bin. While I was walking across the side garden (six feet fence all round) the neightbour caught view of me outside and took camera footage, and then reported me to the police. About a month past by then two female police came knocking on the door and arrested me for indecent exposure. I spent two days in the cells and a couple of hours in court before the court and solicitors/prosecution decided to drop the charges. Now although I've got it in police documented form that nudism and naturism is legal in the UK, even to the point of being naked in public, I now feel uneasy about it and if that happend again I'd want some form of identity card (legal) that allows me to be a naturist and not get arrested.

  David, that sucks about your neighbors videoing. What the hell were you hurting being in your own yard? I'm glad your incarceration was only temporary but YIKES! We can't get away with it here in the states except in places like where my partner and I live, a resort for nudism. Doing the yardwork with clothes is completely idiot unless weather's foul. I'm going to double-dig a second bed this week if the weather stays nice here. Garden bed digging between Christmas and New Years, oh how lucky I am!

  The thing that makes me the saddest about your young, clothes-minded neighbors with the camera is that now they've made you feel worry over something that's legal there. That is wrong and I hope your attitude improves. You didn't do anything wrong and they made you suffer for it. I wish they'd move. Once the neighborly trust has left, it is tough to recover it. The best of luck.

  Thanks for the heads up. I feel now that so much publicity has been made about me in the local community that I've made a serious mistake here. While public nudity might not be a crime now in england, it is however not publcally accepable. The stigma of this now will last longer than my natural life will last. I've always been an honest person but many people view life differently. My limited experience with woman seems to suggest from their conversations that they are very materialistically driven, along with a very narrow view point on life. As I explained to Emma (previosuly I thought she was called Rebecca) I've seen so many people growing up jumping from one relationship to another, kids being born with more than one dad and mother. Today the kids can call any boyfriend of the mother dad because they now think its normal? Men lying with men, women lying with women, all seems to be socialibly acceptable thesedays and no crime, but innocents and honestity don't make money, so naturism and nudism are not socially acceptable. Truthfully I never gave the subject a second thought even when I read about the naked bike ride on here. I now wonder what the public make of it, as truthfully all I can see is a load of men riding bikes naked. I don't see the balance of women to address it.

  Trust me I'm seriously unsure about this subject now.

  So the reason children are not allowed to she adults naked is that they are minors. An adult exposing their genitals in front of a minor is considered indecency with a child and it is a punishable offense under the law. It leads to many problems moving forward in life to include registering as a sex offender.

  Where is it that it's actually illegal for a child to see a nude adult? In most cases the laws are worded so it's only illegal if the purpose of the exposure is for lustful or sexual reasons. If it's just simply the sight of a naked adult it's not illegal. If it were illegal across the board then it would be made a crime for a child to see their parents nude in the home. And that would be ludicrous and stupid and unenforceable in real life.

  It is actually the idea that children are 'harmed' in some way by seeing nude adults, which is driving the whole mess of corruption in our society. Because it's that very aspect, not allowing them to normalize the human body in everyday life, that allows all sorts of lust issues to arise later on in their minds. It happened to myself until I discovered what had done it, and reversed the issues by normalizing nude in common life to myself.

  The illegality of being nude in front of a child comes when a parent knows and files indecency with a child charges on you. No, its not illegal to be nude with your children as long as its not lewd behavior with the child. And its not illegal to be nude around other peoples children as long as parent is aware and consents.

Yes it does vary from state to state and from country to country. Some are more strict with the interpretation sadly. Some actually use other laws to interpret nudity around children like disorderly conducts or lewd behavior. Skirting around the law is what police/lawyers specialize in and take great pride in, to the detriment of the society they represent. And they wonder why some arent trusted much! Ugh!
