Anyone here into Remote area vehicle based exploration? I'd like to see about getting a few capable, self contained, off road vehicles to travel/ Camp in extremely desolate locations like canyonlands, Utah.

Well, you're right, it does fall under the broad general heading of wheeling. So does rock crawling, and mud bogging. Overland travel is anotherword for expedition. These trips involve living out of your vehicle, sometimes taking up to a year or more. Most wheelers are not fully self contained either, having Full sat com, electric refrigeration-no ice in the middle of nowhere, or Emergency extraction insurance. I was cutting to the chase.

Never done it, but it sounds like fun. And in Canyon Lands - that will be beautiful! Good luck and have fun!
