"Assateague National Park General Management Plan is up for renewal, and now is the time to let the National Park Service know that you would like a area of the park to be dedicated as clothing optional, as it had been for many years. The General Management Plans are updated very rarely, usually every 20 years, so now is the time to act since their plan is up for renewal, and public input is critical. "It is important to let the NPS know that there are thousands of naturists from all over the country who would love to have a portion of the park available to naturists to enjoy, and that thousands of naturists spend hours on the roads to far distant naturist beaches which could be avoided if there were a naturist beach close to the Washington, DC area. l"The following is from the NPS website and the links to the comment area are on the pages linked from this message. l"“All National Parks are required to have an approved General Management Plan (GMP) that will act as a guide for making management decisions over the next 20 years. Public input is essential throughout all phases of the development process. Assateague's new GMP will provide a framework to guide decisions for natural and cultural resource protection, appropriate types and levels of visitor activities, and appropriate facility development. The plan will articulate the park's mission, purpose, and significance, and define the resource conditions and visitor experiences that should be achieved and maintained over time. The plan will consider Assateague both as a unit of the National Park system and in a broader ecosystem context that includes the surrounding region. Superintendent Trish Kicklighter and NPS staff invite the public to participate in developing this plan. We are interested in your comments, questions and ideas for the future of Assateague Island National Seashore. Here are two ways to send us your comments: - Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) is a web-based system that has been created for and adopted by the National Park Service to be used nationwide. This system will allow people to gain access to current plans and related documents that are available for review and open for comment. a id="http://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?parkId=207&projectId=26140|" href="http://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?parkId=207&projectId=26140"Public comments can be submitted through the PEPC system./a The public will also be able to access schedules for particular projects as well as specific information about public meetings. - The park will also accept comments from the public by mail, fax, and e-mail. Mail or fax thiscomment formto us. You can alsoe-mailus.” " So if you are among the many naturists in the DC area who would like a naturist beach close by and not have to venture to Sandy Hook or Haulover to get naked on the beach, now is the time to act by writing and taking an active interest in the new Assateague General Management Plan. Call or write a personal email to "MsoNormal"Contact Information Regina Jones-Brake Assateague Island National Seashore 7206 National Seashore Lane Berlin, MD 21811 nbut do this today since the comment period ends this week. " "and post this message on as many naturist sites as you belong to.

THanks for the notification and bulletin...I love Assateague, but have not been there in many, many years.
