Aug 26, 2013Mod's do not have the "power" toBANanyone from the chat room. We are however able to "kick" those that do not abide by the TOS of the room. The "kick" simply means that those that have violated the TOS are unable to enter the chat room for a period of 3 days. I do not know of any Mod that has kicked a chatter without a valid reason, and a screen shot to capture the untoward actions of the person kicked. If a Mod has kicked someone in error as I have done in the past simply because of the screen rolling I have sent that person a PM explaining andsincerelyapologising. It is time that those that take their grievances to the forums realise that "we" that is the Mod's do a thankless job here, we do not do it for a sense of power we do not do it because we have vendetta's and we certainly do not do it for any paid remuneration..... we simply do it to make the chat room a pleasant andsafeplace. If you have been "kicked" from the chat room please do not use the Forums to vent, go to the source, contact the Mod in question via a PM and ask them why they chose to kick you, I am sure you will receive a logical explanation, along with any evidence to verify their reasons. As I have said many, many times before, treat the Chat Room as you would a "Real Life Nudist" venue, treat the chatters both male and female with respect, and if you do so you will be ensured of a fun time, with many belly laughs, lots of camaraderie and just an all around grand time :)

Instead of complaining in the forums, why not contact the mod who booted you. Mods are in bold at the top of the page and active in the room, so I do not buy the "I do not know who kicked me" excuse that I have heard many times.

Let me begin by telling you how much I enjoy the service that you and the other mods provide. I first joined this site when it had about 2000 members. I mainly come here to use the chat room and deleted my account twice in those early days due to unpleasantness in the chat room. Shortly after I registered my account for the third time, mods were introduced and the only reason I am still here is because you all do such a good job in the chat room.
I think a lot of the appeals and rants on the forums could be eliminated with a simple FAQ. That's always my first stop when I join a new site and yet the TN FAQ doesn't even mention the chat! Sure, we can read the Terms of Service (most don't) but a quick glance through the forums will show that the same questions come up over and over again:
Why was I kicked out of the chat?
How long have I been kicked out for?
Is this permanent?
What do I need to do to be allowed back into the chat?
How do I resolve the situation if I feel I was kicked out in error?
When people come to the forums for answers it's because they haven't been able to get them elsewhere and often have emailed Team True and not received a response so they are frustrated and don't know where else to get answers.
If you have any influence with Team True it might be worth suggesting an FAQ.
Again, thanks for all you do.

Well thought out reply........I would simply state that if anyone is kicked from the chat room and they feel they have "legitimate" reasons to dispute their "kicking" that they should perhaps take it up with the Moderator (in a private message) that actually kicked them. Bringing their complaints to the forums really does nothing more nor less than portray them as being agonistic. Each and every time a Mod kicks someone from the chat room they have a screen shot to ensure the validity of the kick is well founded. As I have stated over and over again there has been a number of occasions when I have kicked someone accidently simply because of the screen roll, I have always sent a message to that person apologising. Again, it is a thankless job, but it seems the only ones that complain are those that have totally ignored the TOS of the room and behaved in an untoward manner.

I am not a huge user of the chat room. However when I have been in I follow my simple rule of using the age old tradition of 'cop on'. Speak to people as your would like to be spoken to. And manors cost nothing. Just be polite and respectful as you would expect in face to face interaction .
