Aug 25, 2016The earlier posting 'Big Site, Small Forum Activity hits the nail
on the head. Though I did not create an Excel spreadsheet for
data, a quick perusal of the Forum author's names proves that the
same crew does most of the work. The only question might be
the actual number of active members on the site 'True
Nudist' and does their participation rate
equal other similar sites?
I looked up the old rule of thumb 80/20 to find out what it said. You can find a ton of articles on that topic and review what the varied experts and authors have to say. I've included a quick reference here from a web article, 'www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/397/80-20-rule-pareto-principle' to show that we may be just in the 'norm'.
"By the numbers it means that 80 percent of your outcomes come from 20 percent of your inputs. As Pareto demonstrated with his research this rule holds true, in a very rough sense, to an 80/20 ratio, however in many cases the ratio can be a lot higher, 99/1 may be closer to reality. "
Basically, you can infer that a less than 20% of a group puts forth more than 80% of the output or results. In the early days of the nudist movement, there was a lot more interest, more involved people and greater participation. As it became more mainstream and not as new, the participation started to decline and the devout became more apparent. Just look at the number of folks in Chat actually conversing versus the number watching. I hope I've made my point.

ASep 1, 2016Seems that large majority of members never read the Forum. Myself, I used to write here a lot in early days 2009-2011, after rather sporadically as I grew tired of same moronic repetitive comments and questions, so needed every once in a while longer breaks. On the other hand, when in chat, seems that most people there when bringing up the topic, don't know or don't care about the Forum at all.ReactReply - J.

[/quote]We stay far away from chat (typing in realtime on an iPad would be a chore), so the forum is most of our interaction on the site.ReactReply
