Could anyone give me any tips on body painting, as i would like to try it. Things like type of paint, how to apply , how to clean after and possible designs, would be most welcomed. Thanks

Costume shops here some time carry body paints as do novelty stores.  The body paints I've last used are actually color soaps on popsicle sticks...make sure after you're painted, you wash off away from the hot tub and pool

A few years ago I went to a talk given by a make-up artist from the Royal Shakespeare Company.  The thing that stuck in my mind was that their golden rule was if you can eat it then it is okay to use as makeup.  Things such as rice crispies for warts,  that may not be much use here though.  Also food dyes would probably be okay, the only problem is how long they would take to wash off.

I have seen some of the most amazing examples on here.  Is there a good site or tumblr blog that anyone recommends?

I have never been painited, but have seen some wonderful body paint works of art. hard to belive to take something as beautiful as the human body and although you are putting a covering on it, to come up with such beautiful creations is fantastic. To those who can create like thathats off to you.

Two weeks ago was the first my wife and I tried it with friends. The results are not what one would call fantastic but it was a lot of fun to do.

I'd love to be painted some time... if there are any aspiring, yet reasonably talented, artists out there, I am happy to be your canvas!

While I lived at the previous place, the plants around were not grown tall enough for privacy, but I wanted to be outside naked. I was aware the neighbors could be offended  by nudity, so I came up with the idea of painting some colorful pants onto my skin with acrylic paints, which lasted for a few hours, as due to perspiration the paint started to brake up. It worked well for naked gardening.

there really are two ways to look at body painting
Do you want to appear clothed with paint?
Or do you want to want to be nude with decoration?
for parties we have always went with just the minimal body paint because it will wear off by the end of the night and it never wear evenly, so we might as well be nude from the beginning

[/quote]While we still have over a year to think about it, we have a similar need for ideas for the 2017 Bare Necessities nude cruise. I have always liked the idea of tricking the eye into seeing one thing from far away and something different from close up. Painted on clothes fits that description, so that from far away you can't even tell someone is nude.

I airbrush makeup and effects. This is mostly during Halloween and costume parties. I prefer Mehron products. The barrier spray will keep the makeup on until you wash with soap and water. You can purchase these at local or online party and costume shops also Amazon.

We also do a color run at camp. This is a blast. A short race while running through color stations. You get Holi powder thrown at you as you run. There is a huge cloud of color in the sky. You could also just have a color fight without the run. Holi powder also washes off with soap and water. It is readily available online. I prefer Amazon for this as well.
