  I've been camping since I was 6 months old and I've done it every way you can possibly imagine from walking into the woods and finding a nice tree to lay under to sleeping in a 40 foot RV. I've got a garage full of every imaginable piece of camping paraphernalia. After a few years in the military sleeping with my head in the mud and a car accident that made a mess of my back I'm definitely all for the Rvs with heat and a comfy bed. Sleeping on the ground in a tent is near total torture for me at this point and takes a good couple hours for me to get up and moving in the morning.

  I got to LSR mid afternoon yesterday, set up the tent a lot quicker than I did in the yard and had some nice company from a small group of the "regulars" that were here...a few funny comments, a little help, etc.  By then it was happy hour so we had a drink and I got invited to join a nice couple for dinner in their trailer while we waited for my wife to arrive (had to work late).

  We sat around the fire pit and told stories for about 3 hours, then made it over to the hot tub for a couple of hours before bed time and had some awesome fellowship.
  A strong cold front blew in in the middle of the night which shook the tent, but it was comfortable and we were warm
  Before we made breakfast, my sweet wife and I hit the shower and then the hot tub, and she actually completely disrobed for the tub (first time in public, even though no one else was out of bed yet, lol.
  We're having breakfast now, and getting ready to go visit with friends.

  A camping trips worthI lie in my tent by the shores of the lake only to wonder...am I  asleep or awake? When off in the distance I hear the haunting melody of a loon, and a wolf howls out his lonely song to the moon. A stirring deep with in me, like a restless child, I know I can't resist the beckoning of the wild. And so I follow a silvery path to the water's edge, and dangle my feet off a mossy ledge. In the mist along the shore fireflies twinkle by the dozens, mirroring the image of their heavenly cousins. With a blanket wrapped around me against the chill of the night I marvel at the dance across the water, the pale moon's shimmering light. I reflect with satisfaction on the events of the day, of all the fish we caught and the ones that got away, of fish sizzling in the pan to a perfect golden brown, of a tall, cold, frosty one, how smoothly it goes down. of the sun sinking low behind the tree line. I am pervaded with peace, I know my life's just fine. Now the crickets are chirruping, the moon's about mid-sky, and I drift off to sleep listening to nature's lullaby. For those of you who ask, "What is a camping trip's worth?" The answers quite simple - it's heaven here on earth. Jen

  Jen, I read your poem to my wife and she really thought it hit the mark, as did I.  That was great...well thought out and phrased to express what a lot of us think but don't eloquently put into words.

  So glad you liked the poem!  And really hoping your wife is enjoying her first "social" experiences.  I remember how awkward I felt the first few times. But it just seems to come so...naturally! (Pun fully intended, lol) I do find that when I'm naked, I'm a lot more aware of how bad my posture has become, and tend to keep my back a little straighter and my head held a little higher.  See? It's good for one's physical well being and self-esteem!Jen

  We have a Cabby caravan of water-borne central heating so we can camp in temperatures down to -30 degrees Celsius. This is the best caravan we have had with it, we take on trips both in Denmark and elsewhere in Europe

  I must admit though I'm rather impressed with all this camping talk I've only camped once in my life and it was in the back yard of a friends house.  It rained his tarp tent leaked and we ended up sleeping in the den.

  The tent and air mattress were really comfortable even though the temp dropped to about 40 during the night after the cold front came through.  I did have access to electricity and set up a small electric space heater, and plenty of cover on the bed. Once again, my wife and I were the only "non-regulars" on the grounds this weekend and we shared a pot-luck chili dinner Saturday night, were offered a bed in 4 different trailers "if you need to get warm" and three meals at other times.  And yes, we had a "sweet wife social nudity breakthrough"...I was so excited.  She had gotten into the hot tub nude with me alone a couple of times during the weekend (the rule is no clothing in the hot tub or pool), but on the third trip to the tub Sunday morning, a few folks came by on their way to the shower, came over and visited with us.  She made no attempt to cover up and was seen by probably 5 different men and women in her birthday suit. She also stayed nude under her robe most of the rest of the day until we had to leave and told me that she had intended to get in the hot tub with everyone again, but was fighting stomach issues brought on by the chili dinnerAll in all, we had a tremendous trip.
