The moderators should take note as well. Some profiles haven't even been used for up to 3 years, I'm guessing around when the site started and I feel most of the ones unused for that long are fake.
I'm suggesting any profile unused for 6-12 months should be deleted as they obviously aren't interested in using the site. Who agrees with me??

ANov 28, 2011Main reason why I do not flag most fake profiles is that it is very hard to prove one a fake without any doubt, and I tend to give people a benefit of doubt whenever it is not entirely proven case. Of course using photographs of other persons is an offense itself and reason for flagging, but otherwise it is hard to prove who really uses the profile. Unused profiles do not have to be fakes, either. People just may lose interest on the site or forget their password. Anyway I agree that profiles not accessed for 12 months (or even 6 months) should be erased automatically. On the other hand, as last login date visible in the profile, noone forced anyone to establish contact with non-active members of the site.ReactReply - GA
gabareDec 1, 2011some will get made with this idea but maybe the only way to get on chat would be if you are certified, as for friends that could be a choice you can make. i chat with many some certified and some not and you have to wonder who they really are sometimes and i guess thats one good thing about the cam you see who is there and no they don't need to be nude but it's verifys who your chatting to

Bill NescDec 3, 2011This is the internet. There are a lot of fakes out there and not just this website and not just nudists. It's pretty difficult to tell who is real and who is fake unless the fakers are incompetent fakers or trolls.
I do know for sure that all my friends are real and are who they say they are. My secret? I met these people in person and know them personally.ReactReply - NU
nubienude7985Dec 3, 2011I don't know if all my friends are real or not but think most are,I guess it helps if they are TN Certified dosen't it?I'd like to have more friends but can't get out and meet with them if they live too far away,I hope I get to meet some of them this Spring or Summer that are on my friend list.Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

There's one TN member that has a fake photgraph posted on his profile. I would Flag the guy if I only knew how to. I sent him a message a few months ago that I had PhotShopped the photo he uses by joining two photos of a friend of mine side by side and adding a border. I emailed to finished photo to my friend, but somehow it later got onto the internet and the TN member has copied it.ReactReply - CO

Hundreds of "friends" seems crazy. Not that I'm unfriendly, but there is no way I could spend that amount of time online! It'd as creepy as those people who live on Facebook. My tastes run to being nude outdoors doing stuff - not stuck to a computer.I suspect that the people on fake identities are here for the sole purpose of collecting pictures. It's really pathetic.Pete

She says she got them on facebook, and they're up to 18 friends. ( whispers 18 ) then says "I have 635 friends. This is living."
Some people DO live on-line. Some just don't know any better.ReactReply - OP

DesertRatDec 12, 2012Certification almost always guarantees that the person in the profile is real. It does not verify that the person is a nudist. That person could just be an exhibitionist who loves to display their genitalia. True Nudist credentials are harder to verify. The best way is for other nudists to verify that they have been in social nudist situations with the person in question. AANR or TNS memberships and proof of locations visited are also helpful in proving credibility. Pics taken at resorts, especially with the resort owners are the best proof that someone is a True Nudist.
All profiles should be considered suspect unless they can show a majority of these things. I did not say they are fakes but just not verifiable and, until they prove themselves different, I will accept them as nudists.ReactReply - MEMemberDec 23, 2012

I agree with this but it really is hard, I for one have been to several beaches in my area but being able to get a picture taken at them isn't easy without looking like a perve. Also one could say that a true nudist would be one who goes to different beaches or clubs but IMO some nudist like doing so in the comfort of there own home with loved ones etc. and are shy of the public, these types are still nudists at the end of the day. So all in all you'll never be able to tell for sure if the people on this site are real or fake but it is pretty annoying lol.ReactReply - BO
BobDec 23, 2012I think what is meant by a "fake profile" is a real person or persons creating a profile that does not truly represent them. I am a home nudist for 51 years. I have not been to a social nudist venue because my wife will not go. Out of my love for my one wife for life I will not force her to go. I have not hid this. I am 62 years old as stated in my profile, not 26. I live in Jersey City, NJ, USA, as stated in my profile, not just somewhere in the USA.
BobReactReply - FRFrankJan 13, 2014As has been said before, this is the Internet. The chance of getting a nudist website that's 100% transparant and full of real and honest members is probably 0. Unfortunately. I suppose that only the verification thing plus a crew of skilful and alert mods might possibly raise that chance.
I would dare to state: as long as there are horny males around, there will be fakers on Internet sites....ReactReply - RA
RavenJan 18, 2014everyone has an great point. i say this fake profile ok whatever anyone can make an profile easy and it should stay i would take it an little more no more private profiles yeah that right talk about open everything is out there this is an nudist site but people do get crazy then do it like facebook comments are disabled until you friends them. i would not put anymore nude pics up for security reasons and any one thinks that there images are safe there are easy ways to get them. but what to i know i am some kid from atlantic city should not know how the internet works.

MikeJan 19, 2014In a previous life I was an international investigator specialising in cross-border crime (for the benefit of those who speak Americanese this means crime which crosses international frontiers) with the majority of investigations involving identity fraud. Basically, I think you're on a hiding to nothing if you think you have any chance of tackling the fake profile problem. Ceritification is in fact self-certification so that's no help ... I could easily misrepresent myself as Santa Claus which, now that I have grown a full beard, I often do! Any type of identification document can easily be forged especially in this digital age ... move over Photoshop. The list goes on! In view of this, you should approach the problem by assessing the person first. When I used to train others in forgery detection I always used to tell my audience to concentrate on the person first and then progress to a forensic examination of the document. Does what he or she is saying ring true? As most of the time the subject was in front of you, what is his/her demeanour? Nervous? Or over-confident? Does he/she fit a profile? Can he/she answer simple questions to which he/she should know the answer? This is where a wide general knowledge of the world comes in handy, something that is sadly lacking in today's generation and from certain nationalities (citizenship in Americanese). It is also too easy to be paranoid and then regard every "naked" profile ('scuse the pun) as a fake! There are numerous reasons why empty profiles are put on sites such as this by genuine people - shyness, lack of facility with the English language, fear of ostracism by society or in the work sphere, etc. Like others on this thread I am mystified by those who have hundreds, if not thousands, of "friends" but they have their reasons and, really, does it matter if the profiles they have collected are fake or not? In fact, why should we be worried about fake profiles at all? It is only when the faker starts trying to involve you in a criminal activity that you should be on your guard. I have had quite a few fakers approach me online and I can count on the fingers of one hand (actually 2 hands ... my memory is not that good since I acquired grey hair!) the number that have progressed to that stage. Google "Nigeria 419 scam" for an illustration of how they work and remember the saying "There's no such thing as a free lunch"! At the end of the day it is up to you who you accept as a "friend" and for what reasons.ReactReply - MEMemberFeb 4, 2014
Even I have so many profiles in my friends list who have not logged to TN in last 2 years, I am thinking if by your definition these all are fake profiles? I really have to clean up my friends list.
